Republicans have caught the Democrats in a midnight stimulus power play that seeks to cut Republican conferees out of the House-Senate negotiations to resolve a final version of the Obama stimulus package. Staff members from the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) met last night to put together the stimulus conference report.
They intend to attempt to shove this $1.3 trillion spending bill through in the dead of the night without Republican input so floor action can take place in both chambers on Thursday.
I spoke with House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-Ind.) moments ago about this latest version of Democratic bipartisanship. Pence told me, I think the American people deserve to know that legislation that would comprise an amount equal to the entire discretionary budget of the United States of America is being crafted without a single House Republican in the room.
How many Senate RINOs will go along with this? Probably, just enough for the Dems to get away with it.

Page 11 seems to say a conference bill IS subject to cloture.
A majority (218), so long as enough Dems show up on the Floor, it is irrelevant whether or not a single member of the GOP is present.
Just ran across these bumper stickers. I’ve already ordered my ‘pitchforks and torches’ tee. :) Get ‘em stuck on!

Have a number of press conferences to complain that the process has been corrupted by power hungry socialists. Bad publicity for the Dems is pretty much the only card that the Republicans can play.
Make noise, make a lot of noise so that the people will hear.
Paint them all with a broad brush of corruption and intent to ignore the people of America. Otherwise most people in this country will NEVER hear of this type of political stunt coordination.
The only people that will hear of this will be those that hang in conservative forums or listen to conservative talk radio.
I am not surprised!
I also predict that Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania will pop his head out of his hole, see his shadow, and hide for the balance of winter.
As for big business, they are non-ideological these days, meaning they have (purchased) friends in both parties and are just sitting back praying for a share of the pork to be tossed their way.
Tax cuts for the middle Class. Notice how it is now if you are making over $70,000 you are going to be taxed blind. What happened to the $250,000 cap. Next week Obama will change it to $50,000; but then we all knew that.
We should call this the Swindle Us Bill.
Exactly! Very good.
So that when it fails, the Republicans will share in the blame.
That's why they need to stay united against it - that way the Democrat Party OWNS that garbage.
“listen to conservative talk radio. “
Well the Dems are working to do away with Conservative radio.
They’d prefer to have our budget negotiated by the UN, but it turns out the UN Special Subcommittee on Incomprehensible Financial Affairs is on holiday in St. Bart’s and won’t leave the floating bar until sometime next week.
Shoot. I missed Glenn Beck today. What did he say, there’s going to be a civil war real soon? Something along those lines? I can’t say I disagree.
If we can figure out how to get them to run each other over or electrocute themselves, it will be money well spent.
Hit them on the head with verbal two by fours.
This needs to be done by holding new conferences and advertising and shaming the the left.
They are moving so fast to socialize this government that we will not be able to respond in kind and in time to change anything.
They need to be shamed and taken down by using their own rules against them. They follow the rules of Alinsky for crying out loud! Use the same rules against them and they wont know what hit them.
Sadly, we can't wait, it must be done now.
Anger and outrage will be our friend.
.
Who are they going to shout to? Obama's media?
The media will collectively look up from its delicious bowls of ObamasAssTM ice cream, and snicker at them.
Last year Aviation Week &ST reported that the inspection processes for parts made in Mexico had been vastly improved, paving the way for more manufacturers in Mexico.
Business can take the Democrats excrement for only so long before leaving. My bet: Refineries are next.
He didn't know it was in there last time. The rats are likely to push a vote on this ASAP before anyone is able to figure out what is really in the bill.
My question exactly.
But, but, but...it’s their beloved “democracy” in action!
