I haven’t been here long enough to really deserve any kind of kudos. This thread is amazing and the people who really kept it going deserve some kind of award. This thread is encyclopedic with the vast amount of information it contains, off, as well as on, site.
If I wore a hat, I would take it off to each and every one of these posters who put so much time and thought into this thread alone.
I’m what other people around here call a noob. Been flamed for it a couple of times too. But I figure if I stick around long enough, I won’t be a noob anymore. Here’s hoping.
If you see a story from any one of those sources, the facts are a 90% chance to be a direct opposite. If all come up with the same line, those odds go to 99.9999.
Got too many friends dead because of those bast***s to think any better of 'em, and the rule has saved my butt more than once over the years.
As far as The intel collected and analyzed here is pretty amazing. It makes stock in Rolaids a sure bet, I'll just add my kudos and make the modest claim that better bets would be had in stocks of food, fuel and ammunition.
I've been putting away all of the above for most of the last three years. (Oddly, that's about the same time I started FReeping and lurking around here.)
Radical Islam takes over Chicago hotel
A group with ties to terror activity hosted its first recruitment conference on U.S. soil over the weekend, Fox News reports. Hizb ut-Tahrir which does not appear on the State Departments list of known terror groups hosted its conference, The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam, at the Hilton Oak Lawn in Chicago yesterday.
Hizb ut-Tahrir is not a terror group per se, but rather a school of sorts. The organization targets Muslim youths, teaching its followers to work toward the goal of a global caliphate a government that rules all peoples according to Islamic law.

It’s a joint effort by all TMers.
Boy, many of us have been here a long time.
Mega kudos to Cindy for her efforts in keeping TM going for so long.
TM certainly is a safe haven, when times get edgy.
Posts have dwindled, as we all are busy with this...that..or the other thing.
But, we all know where to congregate if the need arises. ;-)
Thank you Vel...that’s kind of you.
You’re right...team effort.
Stunning how blatant.
Hopefully, the alphabets gleaned good info.
There’s an amazing body of work on TM and your organization of posts and links was and is, always enlightening.
U.S.-born militant who fought for Al Qaeda is in custody
Since his capture at an extremist training camp last year in Pakistan, Bryant Neal Vinas of Long Island, N.Y., is working with authorities in investigations rooted in many countries, authorities say.
An American Muslim convert from Long Island, N.Y., who was captured while fighting for Al Qaeda in Pakistan is now cooperating with authorities, opening a rare window into the world of Western militants in the network’s hide-outs, U.S. and European anti-terrorism officials said.
Bryant Neal Vinas, 26, is one of the few Americans known to have made the trek to Al Qaeda’s secret Pakistani compounds, the officials said.
Vinas has admitted to meeting Al Qaeda chiefs and giving them information for a potential attack on New York commuter trains, conversations that resulted in a public alert in November, said the officials, who requested anonymity because the case was ongoing......

Massachusetts company hid fact that the firm is part owned by a Saudi jihad terrorist
snippet:
The indictment alleges that they failed to disclose one of the major owners of PTech: Yassin Kadi, who was listed in 2001 by the U.S. government as a specially designated global terrorist. Mr. Kadi is a Saudi Arabian national who invested about $10 million in PTech from 1994 through 2001 through companies he owned, controlled or had an interest in, including one called Sarmany Limited, according to the U.S. Attorneys office in Boston.
Because of the government designation, transactions with Mr. Kadi are prohibited.

Security Chief Urges ‘Collective Fight’ Against Terrorism
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano urged Americans on Wednesday to join a “collective fight against terrorism” that combines the efforts of individuals, companies and local, state and foreign governments.
Answering critics who have accused the Obama administration of downplaying the risk of terrorist attacks, Napolitano said the threat has not abated and outlined an approach that emphasizes burden-sharing as federal spending and political support for post-Sept. 11 security measures wane....
