Mesta, your quote from the NYT reminded me of my personal pet prejudice: Practically all of the MSM, but particularly the Slime/WaPo/Almost-everything-on-television axis is what I used to hear called an Absolute Negative Barometer.

If you see a story from any one of those sources, the facts are a 90% chance to be a direct opposite. If all come up with the same line, those odds go to 99.9999.

Got too many friends dead because of those bast***s to think any better of 'em, and the rule has saved my butt more than once over the years.

As far as The intel collected and analyzed here is pretty amazing. It makes stock in Rolaids a sure bet, I'll just add my kudos and make the modest claim that better bets would be had in stocks of food, fuel and ammunition.

I've been putting away all of the above for most of the last three years. (Oddly, that's about the same time I started FReeping and lurking around here.)

Radical Islam takes over Chicago hotel

A group with ties to terror activity hosted its first recruitment conference on U.S. soil over the weekend, Fox News reports. Hizb ut-Tahrir — which does not appear on the State Department’s list of known terror groups — hosted its conference, “The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam,” at the Hilton Oak Lawn in Chicago yesterday.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is not a terror group per se, but rather a school of sorts. The organization targets Muslim youths, teaching its followers to work toward the goal of a global caliphate — a government that rules all peoples according to Islamic law.
