Three reports so far.
From Catherine Moy:
Sen. Arlen Specter must feel like one lucky man today. He wasnt in his Capitol Hill offices when MAF Chairman Melanie Morgan, Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee, Freepers and Free Republic founder Jim Robinson, and other patriotic citizens stormed his office to demand he reverse his position supporting the porkulus bill, aka the Barack-Blowing-Through- Dollars-Scheme.
MAF, as you know, is a protroops organization, and it is our opinion that this legislation will hurt veterans healthcare - not to mention every other American.
Were really in town for our big press conference on Tuesday, when we release our commercial opposing President Obamas decision to close Gitmo.
But we kept ourselves busy today. Melanie was at her finest, when we arrived at Specters office. For those of you who dont know Specter, hes a flip-flopping, spineless bureacrat who calls himself a Republican. Hes also one of the traitors who supports Obamas spendulus bill. This is why he was a target for Mondays action, spurred by Kristinn Taylor of Free Republic.
Melanie and Jim Robinson asked to see the Senator. Specters front-office staff need to go back to kindergarten to get their manners tuned up. either that or they should go to work at Wal-Mart to pick up some tips from their greeters. A secretary, who wasnt happy to see American patriots, refused to answer where the Senator was hiding. Jim, wearing his Navy cap, asked over and over about the Senators whereabouts, but the secretary wasnt helping. It was distressing to see a Navy veteran being treated with such disrespect by a Senators staff.
Well, the cold-shoulder was too much for Melanie, who decided to take matters into her own hands. She stepped to the closed door leading to Specters office and the offices of his staffers, and flung it open. I didnt take notes on what she said, but it went something like this:
Come out! We want to talk to somebody right now!!
The secretary didnt like this. You cant go in there, she warned Melanie, who promptly ignored her.
Sombody come out here right now!!! We want to talk to you. Now!!!
Specters chief of staff had finally had enough and came out to face the American citizens who wanted to redress their government official.
Melanie stepped toward him and unleashed a wave of complaints that hit him like a typhoon.
Again, I didnt take notes, but it went something like this:
Tell Specter to stop acting like a liberal. We are watching him and were not going to let him get away with this!
Others had a few things to add to that. Debbie Lee introduced herself and handed the chief of staff a card with her son, Marcs, picture on it. He was the first Navy SEAL to give his life in Iraq, she explained.
Freeper elk brought her five homeschooled children so Specter could see whom he is saddling with trillions of dollars of debts. She was gracious, intelligent and dead on with her remarks.
Specters chief of staff kept notes, though Im not sure he got everything down. He would have to know shorthand to get in everything. But Melanie reiiterated something he wouldnt forget.
Tell him WE ARE PISSED!
He took down the notes with a shaky hand and gave a smile that you might only see on a condemned man as he is walking to the gas chamber.

From elk:
Whew! Just got back from Senator Spector's Office, where I was priviledged to meet Mr. Robinson in person, and see him deliver the letter to someone who I believe was Specter's Chief of Staff (either that, or a legislative aide). He indeed did personally deliver the letter, I saw it with my own eyes. If anyone cares to know, I was the lady with all her 5 kids there, leaving a message for the Honorable Senator not to saddle my children with this unprincipled, un-stimulus-related debt. I want to be able to tell my children that I did all I could to stop this unprincipled pork, and unconstitutional transfer of wealth.
My children were honored to be able to thank Mr. Robinson, in person, for his service to our country. They were also able to thank the Gold Star mom, for her son's heroic sacrifice for our country. I hope they always remember this day.
While I don't think he's listening, I'm glad I went in person to tell Senator Specter that he should vote "no" on the Pork Spending Bill, and I can tell my children that I did my best to avoid them being saddled with this debt.
I was super-impressed with Ms. Morgan -what a butt-kicker! My kids were thrilled to thank Jim Robinson, in person, for his great service to our country.

From iMacMan:
Like elk, I was there today. Although we werent able to roust out the three senators, we were very well received by the staff we spoke with. I would have to say that elk stole all our hearts with her presentation at Spectors. But no less should we expect of a dedicated home-schooling mom. Those are 5 VERY lucky kids, though they may not fully appreciate it for years.
While others were speaking I watched the secretaries field phone calls it was a solid stream. I didnt see them all, but only one of those I DID see was actually listening AND read back the message she was to deliver to her Senator to make sure she had it right. Most were just trying to stay awake. Collins aide admitted the calls were running some 7 to 1 against the bill.
Jim made a spectacular presentation obviously from the heart and right on point we can all be proud of him actually showing up in their offices will most certainly count for a lot. (BTW, the entire buildings were flooded with Acorn reps wearing their cute little buttons but, then, who wouldnt for the 4.1 or so BILLION $$ written into the bill for them alone!)
Melanie and her MAF cohorts did an excellent job as well a real asset to the group. Others of us, FReepers and lurkers alike pitched in with their own concerns and suggestions way too many to list them all here.
I, for one, will not hesitate to do this again on a such a critical measure.
Fantastic job, y’all. Sphincter was just on Hannity and full of excuses.
btt
That was a great day. Sorry I didnt get to meet you before you left
Excellent work!
Did you get over to Susan Collins’ office? What kind of reaction did you get from her staff?
You guys make me proud.
Great report. Thanks!
Awesome! Real patriots telling the people supposedly working for WE THE PEOPLE they are screwing us. You have to get in their faces. Tyrant RINO Rat Scum!
But Melanie reiiterated something he wouldnt forget.
Tell him WE ARE PISSED!
******
Melanie has a way with words, doesn’t she?~ roflol!
Maybe if more elected officals started talking like this we might get something done besides all the back slapping they do in DC!
Thanks for the updates. Sent emails and prayers up on my end. Will continue to do so for tomorrow.
Thanks for the report...Any other activities planned?
OOH-RAH!!!!!!!!
It’s time we struck some fear into these politicians.
I couldn’t understand everything he was saying, but I think I heard him give some ignorant statments concerning FDR.
I mean - it’s been debunked over and over now, and Specter was trying to claim what FDR was a good thing.
This whole stimulus is disgusting. At least most of the GOP is lining up against it. Dissent has not become illegal, yet.
We need an Atlas Shrugged re-release and movie launch all at once, raise awareness.
Thank God for Americans like you folks!
Great job! And what weasels to hide behind staff members. When I say they are probably “out to lunch,” I mean they are probably out to lunch in the sense of being clueless.
This pork barrel project has got to get defeated! It’s nothing but political payback and payforward for the liberals!
It’s time for some militant conservatism!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you.
God Bless you all for this.
Thank you, in the name of the republic.
The whole of the Senate office building was filled with dirty little weasels representing ACORN? Good thing I didn’t go, I would have had an uncontrollable urge to punch one of them.
Thank you very much!
God Bless You All.
