Severin: Porkulus includes medical care rationing based upon person's age
WTKK-FM | 2/9/09 | Severin

Posted on 02/09/2009 12:32:36 PM PST by pabianice

Jay Severin is on now on WTKK-FM, in Boston.

Severin, a "recovering lawyer," claims that part of Porkulus includes rationing medical care by a formula based upon a patient's age. The older the patient, the further back in line a person stands for any treatment. The bill includes a National Healthcare Office and National Healthcare Coordinator (a WHAT?). ACORN's $4.1B remains in the bill. ACORN is the current iteration of the Black Panthers.

Is this just for the Medicare program? I assume they dont intend to ration medical care under private policies, as that would deny them care in their old age, and we all know that the RAT elite considers itself entitled to whatever it wants for as long as it wants.

Some SCARY bleep. I’m 66.

Do not be selfish citizen! You have already had your chance to live. You must move aside so that younger citizens, with more energy, can thrive and be strong for the good of society.

You need to stop wasting precious resources that can better be utilized by younger, more able citizens. Onward to the future, comrade!

I have a feeling there’s going to be a huge underground economy. How many medical professionals will work on the side? How many business will be cash only? It worked for booze, drugs, cigarettes. Why not the rest of the economy?

You are joking, right? AARP supports liberal causes...strict gun control, entitlements for migrant workers, a progressive tax policy....and loves Obummer.

I have been trying to tell everyone that this was coming. I think that the assisted suicide bill, that WA state passed, is in preparation for this. They need to reduce the burden on healthcare at both ends of the spectrum, babies and seniors.

This is redistribution of healthcare services to include illegals and poor. I still think that politicians and federal employees, including State Employee International Union will be excluded and covered under the plan that federal employees now have. Obama said this in one of his speeches during the primary. Be afraid, folks, very afraid.

From the Bloomberg article:

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

The libs screamed about the Patriot Act that it potentially might violate citizens' privacy because the government was listening to terrorists conversations. Yet, they have no privacy objections that the government will be looking at citizens' medical records and advising doctors about whether or not to treat. Your government will know when you've had an exam of your private parts. Nice.

Exactamundo. We already have socialized medicine (medicare and medicaid). If we let the government take responsibility for providing and paying for even more healthcare, healthcare must be rationed. Old people have more ailments and more time to go to the doctor. Plus, old people are more afraid of death than young people, so they monitor themselves and panic every time they have an itch. Before anyone starts yelling at me, my point is that this is why I am not in favor of this stimulus package. What the liberals know but won't admit is that something has to give and, if the lefties get their way and pay for more healthcare for the under-65 set, it's Granny who will be at the back of the line.

Sounds like Obama has solved the Social Security crisis and the Healthcare crisis in one fell swoop.

Cue an anquished Charlton Heston wearing a handkerchief around his neck. “The Stimulus is people! It’s PEOPLE!”

LOL! Karma's a bitch, isn't she? Obama got 85% of the AARP vote. Not one word about this on AARP's website.
