President Obama has demanded that defense chiefs review their strategy in Afghanistan before going ahead with a troop surge, the Sunday Times reported.
There is concern among senior Democrats that the military is preparing to send up to 30,000 extra troops without a coherent plan or exit strategy.
The Pentagon was set to announce the deployment of 17,000 extra soldiers and marines last week but Defense Secretary Robert Gates postponed the decision after questions from Obama.

Oh. I miss GW more, but I was going for a bad example. Who would think anyone would miss Clinton in comparison.

Good thing that we all thought one up for WWI and WWII

LBJ made the mistake that all central planners do and that was to take the military decisions out of the Pentagon and made them at the WH.Wasn't just the military decisions. It was just about everything.
Maybe I was wrong to object to your comparison of LBJ and Obama.

Hopefully the Pentagon is full of people working on this as we speak...They'll have 4 years of this battle plan to implement.

I mostly agree with the body of your statements.
Your primary premise I question.
“I pick on LBJ because he was one of the three crookedest politicians of my lifetime. “
Pelosi
Reid
Kennedy
Kennedy

Obama
Daley

Clinton

(I could go on and on. Don’t see LBJ hitting in the top three)

Obama’s viewpoint seems to be similar to this concept:
If we didn’t have police, there would be no crimes.

...I dont know if Obama is actively working for the Islamists, or is just so utterly clueless that he really believes they have no ill will towards us.Both are truly terrifying.

Obama is on track to be far worse than Clinton, and rapidly heading towards Carter's benchmark of massive mediocrity (arguably in the lowest 10th percentile among presidents). Can he achieve even poorer performance? In my opinion, there is an excellent chance, particularly due to the abysmal leadership skills revealed to date.

Oh thanks. You sent to your own voluminous vanity thread.
: )
I did find what you were referring to.
“He is about to repeat the same mistake that Russia made as well as LBJ.”
I agree. And although not for the same reasons, but in the same manner.

It's like watching the full color version of "The Three Stooges", Pelosi, Reid, and Obama.
"The Kenyan" has plenty of one thing...audacity. That's it. Otherwise he's a smooth talking con artist trying to fake his way through the most powerful job in the world.
Our safety is not on his mind...his is deer-focused on one thing, fleecing the "haves" and redistributing it to the "have-nots".
He continues to base his performance on how "cool" he looks to the brothers and is going to have America driving through Dealy plaza with the top down, while he hides in his Cadd-i-tank.

They need to turn off the Creedence Clearwater Revival music and realize that everything isnt Vietnam. Hell, even their Vietnam isnt the real Vietnam. Makings-of-a-good-tagline bump.

Amazing, isn’t it? This guy actually has me missing Clinton as president.
Ha! I said exactly the same thing to hubby just the other day.

In my opinion, there is an excellent chance, particularly due to the abysmal leadership skills revealed to date. But he's so smaaart, and the people he's appointed are all geniuses, and they attended the best schools, and they're so much better than all these mediocrities like you and me and ordinary Americans......
They're the smartest, bestest people in America!
It's such a relief to have an Administration of truly intelligent people again!

I’m praying more for our military. BO’s idiocy is dangerous for our troops and for our country.
