A federal judge sentenced a 19-year-old member of a street gang to three years in prison for possessing a firearm while illegally residing in the United States.
The ruling against Marcos Ceaca-Jimenez, a citizen of Mexico, by Chief U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb was announced Friday by Erik Peterson, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin.
In a press release from the court, Judge Crabb indicated she imposed the three-year sentence because Ceaca-Jimenez, a member of the South Side Locos street gang, was carrying a gun and ammunition March 2, 2008, while traveling to retaliate against a former member of the gang who was attempting to leave the group.
The charge against Ceaca-Jimenez was the product of a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Madison Police Department.
Ceaca-Jimenez faced a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
Peterson wrote in the press release, "ATF and the Madison Police Department worked together proactively to prevent a violent gun crime. While this is a serious offense, it could have been much worse if not for the active intervention of law enforcement."
Why not deport him immediately? He's here illegally! You can't charge him with THAT? You have to wait until these illegals commit ANOTHER crime other than the first one of being here illegally?
Yeesh!!
Just another dumb ass judge.
3 year training camp on how to be a more effective killer & not get caught
Double dumb ass.
So, what was the charge? Concealed carry? Unlawful possession of a firearm? Possession of firearms is a right protected by both the State and Federal Constitutions, so is this judge saying that illegal aliens do not have the same Constitutional rights as legal residents and citizens?
Crabb’s one of the worst.
I believe being in the country illegally is not classified as a crime, but rather as a civil offense.
He committed a crime. He should be punished for such, then deported.
What’s the problem?
Wanna bet he’ll be out in half that time?
A little more about Judge Barbara Crabb:
“Civil unrest erupted in Wisconsin after U.S. District Court Judge Barbara Crabb handed down a ruling on August 21, 1987 that affirmed the treaty right of six Ojibwe or Chippewa tribal governments to regulate their members’ hunting and fishing outside of the reservation boundaries, based on the treaties of 1837 and 1842.”
Yep. I’m aware of what a liberal POS she is. She’s been screwing up Wisconsin for decades. *Rolleyes*

She wants to feed and house him for 3 years on the dime of the Wisconsin taxpayers, first.....
Doesn’t sound like much punishment to me.
I was born in Madison.
