I've tried both Boxer and Feinstein, but get nothing but busy signals or "mail box full" messages. That's a good sign. That means citizens are burning down their switchboards. But they also have forms on their websites to send messages. Click the link above to contact your senators.
Here is the message I sent to both of my senators:
Please vote no on the pork package. If you want to stimulate the economy, stimulate business investment and hiring and give people more money to spend NOW, cut the taxes. Cut business and investment taxes. Cut the payroll tax. Cut the personal income tax. Don't burden us or our children with trillions of dollars in crippling new debt. You cannot tax, borrow and spend your way into prosperity. The Chinese are going to eat your lunch! Scratch that. They've already eaten your lunch. They're now eating your home!
Regards,
Jim Robinson
I heard on FOX news that Feinstein is actually considering voting no. Now is the time to call. Put the pressure on and keep it on! The people do not want this trillion dollar boondoggle! Time for the senate to get a taste of the wrath of the people!!
I keep getting “All Circuits Are Busy” and “Your Call Did Not Go Through” messages. Sounds like people are trying to melt the switchboard again...
I got about a half dozen busy signals before I got through to Feinstein. So she is answering her phone (at least at the San Diego office).
I don't hold out any hope for Boxer, but Feinstein is smart enough to know that this bill is a train wreck.
Just keep hitting "redial" until you get through.
That first number starts off by telling us “Thanks for calling to support Obama’s plan.”
Then it dumps to “all circuits are busy.”
Obama is heading out to states like Indiana, where I live, in order to put pressure on weakling Senators to pass this bill. Lugar would be one of them, possibly Evan Bayh too.
Obama is desperate to try to make this porkapalooza bipartisan because it will not stimulate anything.
Pressure needs to be put on these particular Senators in these states to hold firm.
Geesh, we need the GOP to hit the airwaves, and soon.
It's do or die time NOW!We shut down the immigration Amnesty bill... THIS overshadows that by a huge factor.
Bump! Bump! Bump! Bump Bump!
Man the Battle stations People!
CALL NOW!
Do it for our Children and Grand Kids!
BTTT. Dittos. Git ‘er done!
I hit Wyden and Merkley as well, phone calls to each and follow up emails.
Tried calling Specter and Casey; busy signal for Arlen, Casey’s voice mail is full; left emails at both. This is bad; they have utter contempt for taxpayers, I feel like they spit in our faces. Next they’ll be coming for our 401K’s, what’s left of them. From my cold dead hands!
Called Senator Bond's local office and the kind lady there said he was voting against it.
Done. In fact, I’ve contacted my senators and a lot of others several times over the last few days. Call, fax and email, whatever it takes.
I did get a fax thru to Spectre’s regional office.
She is still "negotiating..."
Not that it will make a difference, but I just called Sen. Burris office. Got through after 2 calls. Durbin’s line says if it’s busy during business hours, call back. I hesitated to even call, but decided they need to know how some of us think about this stimulus, after all, they are supposed to be representing us.
I waited on hold for a long time. Call your senator’s individual offices and bypass the switchboard.
Point is they don't have to care what anybody thinks. They know they'll never have a better chance than this for decades.
Just made my wishes known...I’ve got Stabenow and Levin so it’s probably going nowhere but thanks for the thread and the links.
Here is a great place for alternate phone numbers and staffer emails!!

OK. I emailed my stupid solidly partisan democrat porker senator. And also Mitch McConnell.
