From the article:

Baldacci says there’s overwhelming interest in the stimulus, formally known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. He says the Web page, which he unveiled Wednesday, will serve as a valuable tool for the public. Baldacci also says a section will be added to allow public comment.

The Web site provides information and resources so Maine people can track not only the legislation’s progress in Congress, but also actions taken by state government related to the stimulus.

Does it track the extra $3000 in debt (plus interest) every man, woman and child will be further in debt on top of the $35,000+ they each already owed?

I don’t think it’s the pressure we’ll like. From the site:

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

A message from Governor John E. Baldacci

Welcome to the State of Maine Website devoted to The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. I appreciate the great interest from municipalities, institutions, businesses and others in Maine regarding the impact of this federal legislation.

I have worked to make Maine State government more transparent and open, and am encouraged by the call by President Obama and Congress to ensure that the American people can track the Stimulus dollars once they are released.

While the stimulus package is taking shape in Congress, and it is too early to determine what types and how much funding Maine will receive, this page will enable you to see information about the process as it unfolds, and to serve as the portal by which you can track how funds are being used in Maine.

I believe Maine is well-positioned to benefit from the developing federal economic stimulus package. The plan holds the promise to put people to work and invest in crucial infrastructure.

I hope you find this information useful as we move forward together to build our economic future.

I think the value is in Maine voters tracking what the Ditz Twins do on this, not what the website says from within.

Notice that he never mentions TAXPAYERS.

True, it looks like these are swing ‘filibuster’ votes. And saying she wants something makes her the swing.

But Collins is a moron. I say this with sadness because she seems totally oblivious to the fact that the problem with the bill is that a big spending Govt boondoggle bill is NOT economic stimulus, and here she is negotiating over the size of the bill.

Phoooey, it’s not the size, its the whole freaking way the bill is set up. It’s just a big govt spending bill. That’s not ‘stimulus’!! If its $500 billion, its just a smaller (but still too huge) pork bill. It’s hundreds of billions in pork. Tax cuts that are real rate cuts and direct incentives for job creation by the private sector is the way to go, NOT more stuffing of every liberal special interest. See her comments below.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/05/stimulus/index.html?iref=nextin

inally in favor of a bill that would have cost about $650 billion, but after meeting with President Obama, she was convinced of the need for a proposal that would be in the neighborhood of $800 billion.

Obama held a series of one-on-one meetings in the Oval Office on Wednesday with key senators who are still on the fence.

Collins, of Maine, said she went through some specific programs with the president to see which ones he would be willing to cut.

“But I will tell you, particularly on my side of the aisle, there is a vigorous debate over what the size of the package should be,” she said Thursday.

“We don’t want a package that is too small, because that will end up just wasting money. On the other hand, we’re very leery of having an enormous package that would not be necessary and would just boost the federal deficit,” Collins said as Nelson, of Nebraska, nodded in agreement.

The senators’ aides were asked to leave the first meeting while the lawmakers worked, and they wound up standing in the hallway.

“We felt that staff could be helpful but, in this situation, that we needed to work with one another to put together something that we as members really can feel comfortable with and use staff as a resource rather than the traditional way,” Nelson said.

Of course the Senate GOP leader (Just who the hell is that, by the way)would never go to these 2 bitches and kick them out of the caucus on their socialist rear ends.

The GOP needs to take a stand against socialism as UNACCEPTABLE.

How special that the ENTIRE GOP caucus in the House manages to stick together but the biggest theft of public funds in the history of the World is going to be enabled by 2 socialist imbeciles from Maine, a state with less than .03% o f the US population.

Seems fair to me.

‘...inally in favor of a bill that would have cost about $650 billion, but after meeting with President Obama, she was convinced of the need for a proposal that would be in the neighborhood of $800 billion.’

And this is why I have ZERO use for ‘moderates’ and very little respect for either of the Ditzy Twins from Maine.

This is how the GOP lost the past two election cycles.
