The Impending Obama Meltdown
National Review Online ^ | February 4, 2009 | Victor Davis Hanson

Some of us have been warning that it was not healthy for the U.S. media to have deified rather than questioned Obama, especially given that they tore apart Bush, ridiculed Palin, and caricatured Hillary. And now we can see the results of their two years of advocacy rather than scrutiny.

We are quite literally after two weeks teetering on an Obama implosion—and with no Dick Morris to bail him out—brought on by messianic delusions of grandeur, hubris, and a strange naivete that soaring rhetoric and a multiracial profile can add requisite cover to good old-fashioned Chicago politicking.

The easiest rationale for Hussein to resign would be that his most important accomplishment was demonstrating that a black man could be elected president. Under this scenario, anything resembling actually performing the responsibilities of the job pales in comparison to achieving such a profound shift in American voting attitudes.

So, declare mission accomplished and head off to NYC to preside over the UN.

“They didn’t even mention Mexico going under and dragging us with them.” So many disasters, such little time.

Meanwhile, real ice-storm disasters have already killed 50+ in the heartland. Compare with Katrina....

"Where's Obama?"

"Where's FEMA?"

"Where's Homeland Security?"

"Obama doesn't like white southerners".

Next time around, people will be looking for someone like Reagan in bearing and quiet strength, not "energy" and personality but the cliche of the John Wayne strong silent type who can get things done, no more celebrities.

Yeah, but Dick Cheney didn't want the job.

One of Barry’s many problems is that he was the creation of one man, Bill Ayers

........................

This is the clearest explanation of the 0 phenom I have read. There will be no choice but to impeach him in less than a year.

I never thought the public was so stupid as to vote for someone about whom they knew nothing tangible.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It’s worse than that! The public was too stupid to even WANT to know anything. The information is available to anyone who really wanted to dig for it, most of it can be gleaned from his own words, I still maintain that one line uttered at Denver should have stopped any sane person from voting for him when he said that he would “defeat” poverty, disease and climate change. That line is not a standard campaign promise made to be broken. It is a line that could only be uttered by a megalomaniac who either;
1. Literally thinks of himself as God Almighty.
2. Considers the voters stupid enough to believe he is God
Almighty.

Apparently it was number two because he was no sooner elected than he began trying to backpedal and lower expectations. Any voter with an ounce of brains who heard that line at Denver should have considered it a personal insult.

"...to think we ever thought that McCain ever had a chance. How could we have been so stupid? "

Stupid?
Hardly;
If you go back to FR at that time we were beating each other with sticks over supporting McCain or staying home in protest.

We didn't get much of a chance to discus other candidates (except between ourselves) because the party (whoever that may be) rushed Juan to the podium and assured us that the only possible alternates were the very two who would guarantee an anti-Christian jihad in any election (a Mormon and a Tent preacher who plays guitar).

Most conservatives knew for a fact that McCain was a losing bet - naming Sarah Palin to the ticket got our support - not our belief.

“Because FDR was a Lib and had control / support of the silver screen and radio monarchs. FDR was a very powerful man, plus remember the rate of illiteracy of the general populous back then (they simply couldn’t read and many never finished H.S.).”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We’re worse off now, we have some who can’t read, some who won’t read, most don’t have brains enough to understand what they see and many graduate with a university diploma but still don’t have a high school education.

" This sentence is amazingly accurate.
“Obama immediately must lower the hope-and-change rhetoric, ignore Reid/Pelosi..."

Don't think it'll work.
The congressional democrat coven already appears to be working its own agenda - Obama's biggest fear should be that "hope and change" will fail him and he'll be made totally redundant by the plans and schemes of "his" elected party members.

There is no way that either a messiah or his court jester will be able to rein in a majority herd of socialists bent on payback for eight years of what was in fact barely a conservative administration..

Hillary, as one of their own after her brief tour in the Senate, will play them like a fiddle.

Anyone interested in this story shouldn’t miss all of today’s Newsbusters and Obama’s Pity Party being thrown by the Drive Bys.

I saw it, and didn’t think either Chris or Brit were fawning. Certainly they can’t be compared to the Drive bys. I do think they were courteous and wanted Obama to come back again. Obama was patronizing (you’ve always been nice, Chris).

It all looks so foolish now; to think we ever thought that McCain ever had a chance. How could we have been so stupid?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

He actually did have a chance until the economy started falling completely apart and Bush pushed the bailout bill and McCain suspended his campaign to go and jump on the bailout bandwagon. Then of course there was the massive vote fraud, the total extent of which we can only guess at, it is probably the worst in the history of the country.

“No, she is planning her 2012 run,”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

If so she had better have a plan to get from here to 2012 or there may not be a country left to run for.

I hope we have that chance. I am truly alarmed by the speed with which he is moving, and by the end of a year, I think we'll be locked down in ways we can't even imagine. But things can always change. His support might go away, some of his past may come back to bite him - there are many possibilities. Of course, that means we have the idiot Biden or the Evil Queen Pelosi as President (if Biden's dementia disqualifies him...). But at least neither one of them could ever be a cult figure like Bambi.

And we warned about this on FR for months during the campaign. We warned that it was a kooky messianic cult built around a stuffed shirt.

I'm not surprised with VDH's reaction, but it looks like the honeymoon is over with MoDo too!

For ‘Illionois Senate’ in #26 read ‘Illinois Senate’. Dang.

You need a tonic for your eyes, apparently.

Here.

Cheers!
