And rest assured, unlike the oceans at President Obama’s command, the elevated spending levels in this bill will never recede.

LOL

This is an excellent plan....although I would like the corporate taxes cut to zero....but this plan would jump start the economy and definitely create jobs

Finally, a voice that DOES make sense.

Thank you Senator DeMint.

It is up to you and other Senators like Brownback and Shelby to save us from this treacherous "stimulus pork bill."

May G_D speed your course.

Take a look here everyone. You can look up the pork destined for your area.

Just input your zip or State off the search page:

Tax rates are the lowest they’ve ever been in modern history. So how come manna isn’t falling from the heavens?

Off-road pathways... can I go mountain biking?

I’ll take a broken arm or leg for the team to force them to close them down.

# permanently limit itemized deductions to home mortgage interest and charitable contributions.

What is this point about? Is DeMint against working out of your home? Has he got a problem with all those Amway or Mary Kay small business folks? Or does he just want them to go to a lawyer to set up an LLC, etc?

Really, if my company requires me to buy specialized gear for work, should it not be tax-deductible?

I'm sure there's some thought behind this point, but I can't figure out what it was. I know there's a lot of give-away's in the tax code, but I think there's a baby in that bath water he's throwing out.

The street improvements for the crap areas of Fresno add up to more than all the other street improvements combined! What a waste of money!

No, if anything, your company should pay for it, or you should figure out the cost of doing business when accepting/negotiating your wages. Heck, since there is no public transportation to get me to work, should the cost of my car be a tax deduction? Afterall, my company requires me to be at work.

It was not conservatism that foisted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac onto the national credit market

One thing not to let liberals obscure with their analysis of greed and derivatives.

Every problem now plaguing our economy can be directly traced to some government policy that was passed over the vehement objections and prescient warnings of principled conservatives.

Note that the Big Government "conservatives" on FR would most likely casually refer to Sen. DeMint as a "purist."
