NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — A convicted sex offender pleaded guilty Monday to raping a 6-year-old boy at a Massachusetts public library last year while he was on probation.
Corey Deen Saunders, 27, entered the plea Monday to child rape and related charges. He was arrested Jan. 30, 2008, after luring the boy to the magazine stacks in the New Bedford library while the child's mother worked on a computer just a few feet away.
At a court hearing last year, prosecutors played a videotaped interview in which the boy told a child welfare official the assault was like being attacked by a "T-rex and an alligator."
At the time, Saunders was on probation after serving four years in prison for the attempted rape of a 7-year-old boy................
Saunders' defense attorney, Alan Zwirblis, recommended a shorter sentence, including probation. The judge did not immediately set a sentencing date but asked both sides to submit written arguments by Feb. 17.

This guy has been caught twice molesting/raping children. That the judge is even considering a lighter sentence is amazing.
Through both in prison for life, the judge for endangering the public and the pervert. Maybe they can get married.

Because they are appointed and not elected. The other reason is that the Boston (Gay) Globe, the largest local newspaper, promotes liberals over conservatives. The media plays the people like they did with McCain. They fawned all over him in primaries. Then they swooned over Obama. That way we had two liberals from which to choose.
IMHO both the lawyer & the rapist need to go to jail for a longggggggg time. Second offense & the lawyer wants the rapist to get less prison time? Shaking my head again!
My father was a prosecutor for over 35 years. He always told me that child molesters had the highest recidivism rate of all criminals.
There is no way to rehabilitate a pervert.
Also, most people in Massachusetts ARE liberal. Someone considered a conservative in Massachusetts would be considered a communist in Texas.

because public libraries in more urban settins are homelsess and mentally illness magnets. Warm and free. I would never let my children out of my sight for one minute at our well regarded library because of the drunks and vagrents. And the librarians are twinkies who want to be nice to the homeless.
God can rehabilitate them, but only if they want to be rehabilitated.
Whoever lets this person out is guaranteeing another victim.

Hogwash. In Charlotte, NC we elect judges and they hand out even more lenient sentences than this one, to proven murderers...
You can't tell me either that the uber-liberals of Mass wouldn't elect equally wacked liberal judges to this one....

any of the papers I’ve written over the years covered the recidivism rate of pedophiles. I’ve encountered studies showing 90% recidivism and as low as 40%. All reports show child molesters have the highest recidivism rate when compared to other violent crimes.
Life sentences, no parole, no contact with children unless they are at their funerals.

Let me guess, the governor is the only person who can remove a judge from the bench or the judge is found guilty of a felony and sentenced to 1year+1day.
Mass is one of the states where the governor or legislature refused to enact Jessica’s Law, correct?
I’ve been up there many times and while it’s a beautiful state, filled with history, I can’t begin to imagine trying to be a conservative or even a moderate democrat.
