Can anyone from Massacheutses please tell me why judges hand out such lax punishment, even for the a child predator?
Because they are not elected to their position...they are appointed. Even in this twisted state, the judge who let this monster out (if I recall, using the rationale that the monster had not molested any children for seven years --- of course, he had been in prison for those seven years) would be tossed out in an election.
Judges should be answerable to the voters.
