Drill, baby, drill. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continues her push for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, arguing against legislation barring oil development in the federally protected region.

“I am dismayed that legislation has again been introduced in Congress to prohibit forever oil and gas development in the most promising unexplored petroleum province in North America,” the Alaska governor wrote in an op-ed published in Monday’s Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate publicly championed the exploitation of domestic energy supply in Alaska’s northern coastal plains

No one wants to drill ANWR for $40.00 oil.

Drill Here, Drill Now, is Dead.

ANWR is not just about oil.

US Land Drilling is probably 20% oil, 80% natural gas.

As governor of the state,

give the OK to develop the land in your state,

call out the national guard to defend the site,

and dare the feds to stop you.

With the decline in oil prices, E&P projects are being canned in Texas and Louisiana. Those states have rather low drilling costs compared to Alaska or the Western states.

So for now, look for a larger percent of your oil to come from Venezuela and other OPEC states.

Old school yet refreshing.

The mere threat of "Drill Here, Drill Now" is why we have $40 a barrel oil.

Not in and of itself, but it was a factor in the drop of oil prices. And as someone else said, it's not just oil, but NG and lots of it. T. Boone Pickens was/is pushing LNG for auto's. That stuff has to come from somewhere. And I could use a break on my heating bills. Algore's globull warming has been all over the place this winter. Still have 12" of it in my yard.

So yea. Drill Baby, Drill!

Drill Baby, Drill! is a cute idea but people like me who work in the oil field and the companies that we work for will not go to work if we cannot make money.

Exactly #17. Most oil companies are not anxious to do any exploratory drilling at current oil prices and reduced demand. Dear, sweet Palin has ZERO chance of getting Anwar drilling through this Demo controlled Congress and Obama would veto it anyway. Elections have consequences.

That’s not the point, mono. The legislation would ban ANWR drilling FOREVER. That’s what she’s trying to stop.

Too bad. If we're gonna do infrastructure projects in a gov't "stimulus" bill, this is the kind of thing we should be doing. It's good for the future of the economy and therefore there is zero chance this administration will go for it.
