Wildcat oil strikes: Europeans are finally waking up to the demise of democracy

Angry people across the EU are discovering the fine print in all the treaties signed by their leaders, says Janet Daley.

The peoples of Europe have finally discovered what they signed up to. I do mean "peoples" (plural) because however much political elites may deceive themselves, the populations of the member states of the EU are culturally, historically and economically separate and distinct.

And a significant proportion of them are getting very, very angry.

Now, when will the US laid off workers in Silicon Valley pick up their pitchforks and lighted torches and storm the offices of Oracle, Hewlitt-Packard, Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo?

Not sure when the Silicon people will gather their pitchforks...but you will probably see that in other parts of America first.

Good to see the Euros finally waking up to the failed Globalist economic system....they have been under this for 50 years now (with the EEC and EU).

The treaties were bad...and limited true free enterprise

It will be the lower-class/less-educated workers who are likely to riot rather than college-educated and/or middle-class workers. Regardless, this is a bad situation and with Marxists in control, this could get worse.

If the GOP really wanted to make a comeback by standing on principle, sustainable immigration should be high on the agenda. That and stop the flood of H1B and other visas.

Open borders, come one, come all, no questions asked is a core belief of the Marxists. It is one of their greatest tools to destroy traditional American culture.

I guess you didn't read the article?

This isn't about H1B and other visas, which BTW, do NOT allow companies to simply hire foreign workers.

This is about cheap labor being bused in and housed from other EU member nations, taking the jobs of locals who are just as or more qualified. it's about government not putting the needs of it's on people first, which is illegal under this EU treaty. it's about A nation being governed by leaders not accountable to the people.

Here, H1B visa's are only allowed when a qualified person cannot be found within the local jurisdiction/state. You'd also be hard pressed to prove that they were being paid less than what the local job market demands as well. H1B visa's are mostly used for jobs pretty high up on the cooperate ladder.

It’s also about the exploitation of those poor people being used for cheap labor.

you are dead wrong. Obviously you never read it either. it isn't pro protectionism at all, in fact it denounces it, and Obama's ban on brit steel and "buy American" policy.

self ping for later when I can find the video of the attorney explaining how to get around the H1B visa regs.

So you think H1B visa’s are stealing jobs you are qualified for?
Then simply file a lawsuit if you feel a local company has unfairly refused you a job you qualify for and imported someone less qualified.

"Open borders, come one, come all, no questions asked is a core belief of the Marxists."

Marxists are for closed borders, and tariffs on foreign goods. hence Obama's ban on foreign steel and "buy American" announcement. It's anti-capitalism, anti free markets. Protectionism is what Roosevelt implemented and is what pushed the world into the great depression that lasted near 20 years.

You must mean something, like H1B’s are used for bringing in hordes of low paid workers, which they are NOT.

Usually they are used by very highly professional people, doctors, nurses, engineers, etc.

“... H1B visa’s are only allowed when a qualified person cannot be found within the local jurisdiction/state...”

That is the excuse made by the likes of Intel and Microsoft so they don’t have to pay a living wage to an American.

There is a reason that Microsoft’s latest products have been crap: they aren’t hiring the best people in the USA but the cheapest from overseas.

Because US companies aren’t hiring American, less and less young people are choosing to become engineers. Why go into a fiels when companies prefer to hire foreigners.

In 1983, when more than 175,000 software engineers were seeking work, major software companies in this country were appealing to the Clinton Administration for a greater number of H1B visas to be issued. That trend has continued.

Those who are elected to serve in the EU congress are far, far left and have been since the people who voted for them did not care as they thought that their countries would continue to make their laws and living good.

Did not happen as the left has taken over the EU and many of the Nations in the EU just as the Communist wanted and the Nazi also both are left wing.

Sorry but I really like to visit but it is getting harder as the freedom on the individual keeps sinking as it is in our own country.
