NEW YORK -- Most Republican governors have broken with their GOP colleagues in Congress and are pushing for passage of President Barack Obama's economic aid plan that would send billions to states for education, public works and health care.
Their state treasuries drained by the financial crisis, governors would welcome the money from Capitol Hill, where GOP lawmakers are more skeptical of Obama's spending priorities.

Post 9 - Good for you! You submitted a post of a media-type’s slant on what Gov Palin actually said. I reckon searching for those comments she herself made on the stimulus bill proved too taxing for you. By the way, she already is being critiqued in Alaska for refusing to accept some fed largesse. But don’t let the truth get in your way from maligning this grand lady.
She talked to the reporters and said she was going to Washington to make sure Alaska received their share for infrastructure dollars. Also, she mentioned some concerns about the infrastructure projects that may be funded through the federal stimulus package. She says that Alaska will need more time to implement any funded projects because of the weather conditions there: it’s too cold to build roads and bridges for a greater percentage of the time than, say, in North Carolina .
She also mention an exemption Alaska needs in terms of time lines for some shovel ready projects that congress says they have to be shovel ready and have to get them out the door wheather it be 90 days or 120 days Alaska needs an exemption because of climate. Plus some aspects of the stimulus package that she is not agreeing with. That is to punish Alaska for thinking ahead and planning ahead forward funding $1 Billion for education, and give more fund to those states that fall short for not planning ahead.
So when this disaster comes to fruition, do you belive the media won’t remember that Sarah Palin supported it?
Poor headline and worse writing. Tim Pawlenty summed it up at the end:
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who is widely viewed as a potential presidential contender in 2012, said governors have little choice but to accept the relief being offered. “States have to balance their budgets,” he said. “So if we’re going to go down this path, we are entitled to ask for our share of the money.”
But Pawlenty expressed reservations about the cost of the plan and its impact on the federal deficit, which has already grown to over $1 trillion.
“I’m quite concerned about the federal government spending money it doesn’t have,” Pawlenty said. “We’re on an unsustainable path of deficit spending and borrowing.”
No mention of Gov Rick Perry of TX or a lot of other Republican Governors. AP article on Fox News so once again you are not sure of the content. The article is pretty disjointed and leaves one wondering what was really said.
Why do so many people on here jump to conclusions when it is an AP article who are not the most reporters?
Because people are quick to believe anything from the AP, which is nothing more then propaganda for the Obama campaign. I like what Mark Levin calls them “AP Obama”

What the fed does is mandate programs and then pay either dollar for dollar or 66/34% on a lot of them. The more the states spend, the more they get.
Let’s face it, if you work for a living you are being robbed and as long as we refuse to march on government or risk losing our jobs by walking off the job on the way to D.C. they will continue to rob us.
The ones that won’t complain are the H1Bs and other foreign workers, legal and illegal. Why do you think they allow it all to happen.

It is really quite remarkable about how almost everyone here is ready to excuse or rationalize anything that Palin does. Fact it. She is begging her pound of flesh from the federal taxpayers like the rest of them.
Exactly. Vote them out. They have nothing to offer that I can see.
This is the same “great lady” who called for socialized insurance for Alaska’s children last month. Just because McCain picked her as veep, doesn’t make Palin a flawless goddess.
Levin is right AP Obama. I was shocked to read the article after the headline. Doesn’t match.
Because for reasons that prove elusive, some wish to see that Gov Palin won't run for POTUS.
I will wait for comments from HER before I come to any conclusion, if she is for the ENTIRE bill, yes I will think differently, until then I will refrain from making any conclusions. I don’t trust the AP, Sarah will speak out about the package, I have read letters she has written and it all sounds like she is against it but for that small portion of it, if she comes out and say differently I will be the first one to come out and say its nuts
Excellent response and I see the anti-Sarah crowd have weighed in on this half-truth if that AP article.

What is remarkable is how a few people will suddenly believe the almighty MSM and ignore the woman’s words simply because they hate her.

I’m not interested in promoting a “media-type’s slant on what Gov Palin actually said.” I saw the article and extracted the quote. Since you apparenltly searched “for those comments she herself made on the stimulus bill” yourself, perhaps you wouldn’t mind linking them. Also, check out the reply #37. I found that helpful.
