MARION, Ky. A crippling winter storm has plunged about a million customers into the dark from the Midwest to the East Coast, and thousands of people in ice-caked Kentucky have sought refuge in motels and shelters.
Dozens of deaths have been reported and many people are pleading for a faster response to the power outages. Some in rural Kentucky ran short of food and bottled water, and resorted to dipping buckets in a creek.

Smith said FEMA was still a no-show days after the storm.
Well is it really news when an obscure federal agency like FEMA stumbles when responding to a natural disaster? Oh, never mind.

Did the Guv of Kentucky declare a state of emergency and request aid? I haven’t heard nor seen anything to that effect maybe i’m out of the loop but the best of my knowledge the Guv has to publicly declare it.
Yes days ago..
All FEMA does is screw up passing out ice, they’re not needed in an ice storm. That means 0bama will send twice the support Houston received during Ike.
and Silly Putty has picked his battle with the DC weather .
This man is NOT ON TASK as a first responder to a verified State of Emergency. He’s not said one word.
what a little pos
FEMA doesn’t go to states that voted against Soetoro.
“a million customers”
AP premise alert - people from Kentucky aren’t people, just customers.
I’m sure the New Orleans people were just “costomers” too. NOT
I’m confused. From this article it looks like something is happening.
Kentucky and those affected areas, simply aren’t black enough, nor socialist enough to matter to 0. 0 hasn’t said one thing about the weather other than he couldn’t believe school got canceled there when the stuff came in. If one pays attention, one notices that he tipped his hand about him activated FEMA to assist with that comment. As a matter-of-fact, 0 constantly tips his hand in his babblings. I pray they get the power back on soon for ‘their customers’.
I know people need help, but what ever happened to self reliance? Here in Arkansas, they were all over the radio and TV about how bad this storm was going to be. Some folks made no preparations, then whine about how bad it is. If you are waiting on FEMA or any government entity to help because you lack common sense, you are in for a long wait. That said, and to be fair, when we have had tornadoes, FEMA has been here quickly, and given good service. It may be the massive scope of this storm. It does appear they could have a better attitude, though.
Had an ice storm up in Maine a few years ago. Had no electricity for about a week. Ran out of gas too. Heated with a small camp stove. No FEMA. Didn’t expect ‘em, either.
WHERE’S ZERO?! HE SHOULD BE THERE HANDING OUT BOTTLED WATER TO THOSE PEOPLE DIPPING BUCKETS IN CREEKS!!! (oh yeah, i forgot... he’s too busy helping timmy the tax cheat with the latest bankster bailout plan.)
In all seriousness though, it sounds pretty bad. My wife’s family lives in Louisville and most of them are still without power. My father-in-law is one of the fortunate ones with power and he has a dozen kids and relatives staying with him.
Obama hates white people!
They are mostly white people, who cares...
Quick, someone call Kanye West to be on the telethon so he can criticize The Most Merciful President Barack Obama. And where’s The Oprah?
You have to make yourself a Barry Obama FEMA map. It is really easy.
Any Red State don’t get no steenkin’ FEMA.
