Second ballot:
168 ballots. 85 to win --
Mike Duncan - 48
Michael Steele - 48
Katon Dawson - 29
Saul Anuzis - 24
Ken Blackwell - 19
Wonder how the votes will break now.
Question is... will he endorse someone else?
To answer my own question — he didn’t publicly endorse anyone else.
It’s probably the end for the GOP, no matter what else happens. It’s the possible end of U.S. conservatism that I’m much more seriously concerned about. If the majority of the U.S. voting general public just get used to “government dependency”, then it’s really going to be close to impossible for U.S. conservatism to successfully make any kind of serious political comeback as a political majority throughout the U.S.!
Since Steele has cracked 50 already, you almost have to assume he will win this once Duncan releases his votes.
Looks like no endorsement, time for the trading.
LOL — the RNC is restless — they don’t want a recess!!
Exactly, ask Clarence Thomas how much being black helped him when it came to being attacked by the left.
The reality though is that the RNC Chair, whoever he is, is pretty low on the totem pole when it come to being the subject of attacks, so I don’t know how much it matters.
It looks like it’d down to Steele and Dawson.
Duncan is out according to Fox news.
I like Michael Steele and am willing to give him a chance here.
C’mon Steele!
Like I posted earlier - they have to be out by 5 since the ballroom has a wedding coming in. Still have many other officers to vote for, too.
Whoever wins, I hope they are a small target. They will immediately be the target of talk show host jokes and SNL skits. As we have heard, there is nothing about Obama that they can find humorous.../sarc
Not necessarily. I don’t believe Duncan is a big fan of Steele. We’ll see in a few minutes, in any case.
Steele’s looking nervous
Time to adjourn to the lounge!
Position-wise, I am a Blackwell type.
But in the RNC debate, I was less impressed with Blackwell’s level of articulation than with Steele.
It would be good to have someone who can get on the talking head shows and make the case for the GOP.
Didn’t they recently layoff some employees at the Greenbriar?
Kudos to that. My thoughts exactly re the debate and this race.
I totally agree with you on this point.
