This is a memo from Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Democratic members sent after the stimulus vote yesterday. Pelosi is apparently panicked at Republicans success in uniting against her hyperpartisan actions in shutting them out of the formulation of the stimulus bill and in peeling nearly a dozen Dems off to vote in opposition.
Here is the full text of the memo leaked to HUMAN EVENTS this morning.

Re: The Republican Problem
Date: January 29, 2009
The House Republican Leadership put its Members in another politically untenable position yesterday: trying to reclaim the mantle of lower taxes and small government -- at the exact time when economists of every ideological stripe agree that government investments are the only way to get our economy moving again and make us competitive for the long term.
So yesterday, while we are facing the greatest economic crisis in decades, Republican House Members ended up voting unanimously against:

Until the 2009 or 2010 or 2011 budgets that is.
She represents San Francisco, do you expect those folks to elect anyone BUT a wild-eyed liberal?
It will be a disaster.
Obama! is going to remove a trillion dollars from the Free Market. Some 12% of that trillion will find its way into infrastructure spending - which is money badly spent, but it will be better spent than the other 88%, which is going on crazy capitalism-destroying stuff.
How is all this going to act as a net good for the economy? We need to cut taxes and get Govt out of the way. America's only hope is its economic engine. Taking the petrol out of that engine and replacing it with hyper-expanded Government is absolutely demented.
No, but I just think there are probably wild eyed liberals who haven’t been stretched quite so much! ;)
My son is in the same boat. Arctic Cat has him sitting on standby. They are a completely owned and payed for company and they are simply having to shut down to stop losing money they had saved up.
They say work will be very limited but will begin again after Feb. 9 th. and he has been there 13 years.
Which makes me wonder just how long Obama will keep her around as Speaker. She's not popular among the rank and file, she's unbelievably partaisan, she comes across as a dunce. If Obama wants bipartaisan support on any of his legislation then it'll never happen while she and Reid are around.
That sucks. We even had good snowfall this year which should have helped sales. Too bad the government is more concerned with making things worse rather than getting out of the way of a real recovery.
Yeah, Keynesian measures that won’t take effect until we’re out of the recession (and included money for birth control) are the way out.
Good grief.
It’s like 1992 all over again. Let’s hope 1994 comes again.
Attagirl and thanks. That will send a message like few others can.
If you have the time to write up a vanity post on that very topic, please do so.
Be prepared for both cheers and flames... ;^)
Yep. It's the old "You saddled that horse, now you're going to ride it." I do believe the reality of power is setting in for old Naggy Puglosi: power being like a snake, you had better know exactly what you are going to do with and how BEFORE you wrap your hand around it.
Maybe there is another panic in legislative branch in an emerging realization of the ramifications of having made the Faustian bargain in exchange for the 0?
Yeah, I not only typed 48 instead of 47, I typed 12 instead of 11. My section of the brain that controls typing and numbers is not engaged. :)
“That memo shows that her bunched up panties..”
I doubt that she wears panties. Talk about sickening visuals.
She’s talking about the same economic experts who didn’t see the current mess coming.
Maybe that is exactly what she wants others to think?
“The Republican Problem”
And what “solution” does she propose?
The same final solution proposed by the Weather Underground, Fascists, and Communists?
LOL
Let’s be absolutely clear that my LOL was to your “Somebody talked” graphic—your following post is likely true but certainly not funny. Sad, actually.
