A parent in the Clark County School District of Las Vegas, Henderson area reported today that his son, who is in 1st grade, came home yesterday saying that he didn't want to go back to school anymore.
When asked why, the boy said that during the Pledge of Allegiance the teacher put up a large image of Obama next to the flag.
Thinking that the boy might be exaggerating, the man asked his son if he was sure, and suggested that by "large" he might mean an 8x10 photo of the president. The boy apparently said "No, it is a large picture of Obama and when we are done, the teacher turns off the image."
The same thing was not done for President Bush last year.
After investigating this morning, the other parent reported that what the boy said was true.
At least three of the five classrooms have an overhead projector and as the children stand to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the teacher turns on the classroom overhead and a full body image of Obama, with six U.S. flags behind him, comes up about 4 feet away from the flag that hangs on the wall. The screen is apparently around five feet by six feet.
In the image, President Obama appears to be staring straight out with no facial expression, just a serious look. All of the kids in each class faced the President, instead of the flag that hangs in the corner.
Local parents are up in arms over this situation. Teachers clearly do not realize the gravity of what they are doing.
I am surprised kids still say the pledge, most schools I know the teacher no longer allowed it.
But maybe since Obama is here, they will bring it back.
I saw similar nonsense in a elementary school today, photographs and drawings by kids of POTUS MUZZIE HUSSEIN SOCIALIST FROM KENYA all over the walls in both the classrooms and the corridors.
First grade! Whoa! Very cool and perceptive kid. If I were the dad, it would have brought tears of joy to my eyes.
“Teachers clearly do not realize the gravity of what they are doing.
OH YES THEY DO.”
No offense, but I’m not sure that they do.
They are the product of ‘children who have been taught by children, etc’ and now teach. (statement made without offense to all teachers)
Personally, I’d like to believe that your statement IS correct since there would be a readily available solution/correction.
I was about to say...I’ve never posted anything from NewsBlaze in my life!
I just saw this in a search for Obama and education (posted a couple of other threads on the general subject)
The natural state of the vast majority of sheeple is to live in a dictatorship.
A Republic like ours only works if the right to vote is confined to responsible people.
That horse is out of the barn.
All POTUS MUZZIE HUSSEIN SOCIALIST FROM KENYA needs is 2 SCOTUS appointments and he is in for life just like Chavez.
I will die first. No joke. They will have to kill me.
And no, I will not go quietly into that good night...
“I hate to correct someone like that, but youre right. They sure do. I cannot believe how bad our schools have gotten.
Im surprised they dont have a wall photo of Obama at the school, reminiscent of those depicting Chairman Mao.”
I’m surprised that they still Pledge Allegiance to The Flag.
Hell, I placed a picture of Obama in the bottom of my son’s training potty. Tell him to make sure he hits the target. My wife is beside herself, about this, but she knows not to interfere.
My son’s future Red Rider BB gun with a compass in the stock has been replaced with an AR-15 A4 with a scope and 30 round mag.
Well, from doing some web searches, looking for some corroboration, I see a very similar item (but written in the first person), in a web forum called the tree of liberty.
Don't know if this is the source, but it may be. No specifics, but it is a person saying "my son" vice "his son."
sorry, I call bs on this
When I was a kid, we did the old salute when we said the pledge. (Hand on forehead)”I pledge allegiance (salute) to the flag———”.
Do you suppose this ‘sieg heil’ salute will come back? Sounds like this school would like it.
Good for those parents who are bringing this to attention!!
You got that right.
Nothing worse than a parent who would rather make a car payment than send their kid to a private school reflective of good judeo-christian values and morals.
Home school if you can't swing the tuition, and remember that most private schools will help out poor families.
See post #52...that's all I could find on this...
My youngest (1st grade) was in the kitchen this afternoon. He made a strange remark to me.....”Mommy? That Obama? He REALLY looks weird. It’s just that every time I look at him....he looks....WEIRD.” He’s heard me spout off about him....but nothing too deep. (Can’t say much because hubby likes him and was present.) I thought that was a bit strange. They watched the ‘coronation’ at his school. I’ll be digging further to see what’s giving him ‘the creeps’.
Don’t give them any ideas. There could be FR trolls that will take this idea and run with it!
Thanks for posting that.
John T. Reed said it all.
