Obama administration officials have drafted a letter to Iran from the president aimed at unfreezing US-Iranian relations and opening the way for face-to-face talks, the Guardian has learned.
The US state department has been working on drafts of the letter since Obama was elected on 4 November. It would be in reply to a lengthy letter of congratulations sent by the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on 6 November.
Diplomats say Obama's letter would be a symbolic gesture to mark a change in tone from the hostile one adopted by the Bush administration, which portrayed Iran as part of an "axis of evil".

Author Kenneth Timmermann was on Bob Grant’s radio show tonight and he said that both the Obama and Clinton campaigns were secretly negotiating with the Iranian Islamic Republic.
Timmermann said his source said that Obama has promised to recognized the Islamic Republic of Iran in exchange for a scale down nuclear weapons program. It also included what influence Iran would have in Iraq.
The Islamic Republic believes that Obama has a better chance in the winning the election.
I have heard Timmermann before and he seems to be a credible person even though he writes for Newsmax. He throughly documents and sources what he says.
That sinking feeling is getting stronger by the day.

We are awfully sorry for all the mean things those Republican Presidents did to you. We would like to know if there is anything, and I mean ANYTHING you would like us to do to make things up to you. We don’t mind that you have nuclear weapons, and the whole Israel thing is a big headache for us, too, so you just do whatever with them.
We are sure to be big friends now so you can have a green light in the middle east to do as you wish. After all, we don’t want to seem imperialistic or meddling in any way.

Eactly, only a fool would pander to them. Give them an inch (apology) and they will want a mile ( conditions of their own including lifting any american embargoes we have now with them. This is all not so simple as it’s presented to the american public. It’s NOT going to be announced that relations with USA and Teheran are normalized .
