The Congressional Budget Office has released their analysis of the House version of the stimulus bill (H.R. 1). You can read the full analysis in PDF form here, but we thought it would be useful to take some of the budget numbers in the analysis and present them in chart format.
Shown below are several different views of the how the dollars for H.R. 1 would be spent over time. Most striking is that in total, the CBO estimates that less than 21% of the funds would be spent in 2009. Apparently, it is a huge crisis which requires swift action (and no time to read bill text) to pass a massive spending bill --- but there seems to be no hurry at all to actually get the money into the American economy anytime soon.
The summary chart is shown below, click here to see even more charts and breakdowns of the CBO analysis.

I read the first version. It has so much pork in it that it should be sponsored by Armour.
Thanks for the chart and info. I’ll take a look at it when I get a chance but I suspect the only thing it is designed to stimulate is the Democratic Party/Obama Administration.
All Republicans should vote no on this crap.
Yep, and proof of that is as soon as the birth control stuff was axed, out came the planned parenthood creeps and their allies protesting.
21% in 2009!
This is no stimulus package, its an endless barrel of pork. LOL
After the payback comes the kickback.
This should be renamed the “Screw the Taxpayers ‘til They Squeal Act.” We don’t even get dinner and a movie.
And a HUGE increase in outlays for 2010, just in time for the elections...
One Thousand Five hundred and Eighty Eight Pages....
1,588. pages....and counting.....
Sweet Lord...........
That is over 3 packs of paper........
OVER 40 POUNDS of paper......( at 20 lbs a pack )
Just bought a pack so the math was easy....
I wonder just how long it would take me to examine this volume of BS.........
I just sent this to my email list of friends and family....saying.....”Want to do your job as a citizen?” Read the stimulus since you’re going to be paying beaucoup bucks (and your children, grandchildren, and on and on and on)....gave them this website, Heritage’s summary website, and the info someone posted here earlier today....
I suggest y’all send this out...Oh, and I highlighted in red the really questionable items....like the Nat’l Endowment for the Arts, the community support stuff, etc... on the summary list.
Make people’s BLOOD BOIL!!!!
A stimulus to the paper industry or website designers. The benefactors of this are Planned Parenthood, ACORN, AFL CIO, NEA (Natl Ed Assn), NEA (Natl Endowment for Arts), Sierra Club, etc.
Any Republican who votes for this should be challenged in the primary, especially if they voted for the bailout last September.
So....we’re spending $14M for “Funding for Accountability and Transparency Board”. OK. WTH?!?!?!
How do we fight back on this crap? Lot good it would do us to “email/mail/contact/fax/mindmeld” the #$%^ing reps and senators. They won’t listen to us. Especially my rep, Oberstar who has his name penned right at the top. GAG!
You’re right. What the heck was I looking at!...(slinking away now)
Bookmarked to read when I have some wine or something to keep me from getting horribly depressed.
My Rep, Jeff Sessions was on the local news tonight begging people to read this, and trying to make them understand why he was so against it. Like he’s got a chance in Hades of getting anyone to back him up. :(
