Rush's Bi-Partisan Plan, ready to email
Inspired by Rush Limbaugh Radio Show | Jan 26, 2009 | Pauly Cy

This is the Obama/Limbaugh Bi-Partisan Economic Stimulus Compromise Plan of 2009

(You may remember that Obama said he "didn’t care where the suggestions [to fix the economy] come from, all will be weighted...")

This proposal is dead serious. Here is the plan:

Obama won the election with 54% of the vote, compared to 46% for McCain.

PROPOSED: The US will invest 1 Trillion Dollars (One Thousand Billion Dollars) to end the recession by stimulating the economy.

54% invested Obama’s way: spending - $540 Billion. Obama's way gets the majority of the funds, reflecting the outcome of the election. 46% invested the Republican's way: tax cuts, specifically capital gains cuts and business tax relief, plus other tax payer reductions - $460 Billion

These different approaches will be implemented at the same time and we can measurably compare which plan makes the economy improve the fastest. We won't have all our eggs in one basket and we will know for future reference which approach better stimulates the economy, spending or tax cuts. If a combination of the two works best, great. We will know for sure.

This bill is truly bipartisan and reflects the wishes of *all* the American people, both those who voted for Obama and those who didn't. This is true bi-partisanship. As Obama said, everyone will "have some skin in the game."

Will you support this bi-partisan approach to ending the recession? Talk to your friends and neighbors. Forward this email.

We're all in this together. Let's solve it together.

I feel insulted! This announcement is pure BS! Barry and his slum dogs and Rush just threw the United Sates Subjects a bone. All I ever see is the msm and clear channel conservative radio shows with their phoney blathering hots,is a game that is older than dinosaur CRAP! Good cop bad cop. That way all these participating WEASLES get an equal share of the MONEY PIE! I don't listen to any of the above! Barry is out of control. It will only get worse. If you watch Barry's body language and his arrogant language it's obvious Barry is displaying classic behavior associated with chronic heavy drug abuse. As a result of Barry's uncontrolled thirst for opiates his arrogance has morphed in to MALIGNANT NARSISTIC BEHAVIOR. Pakistan is a perfect region for Barry and his minions to control so they can GRAZE in the lush opium fields.

I think that's the fatal flaw in Rush's plan.

That it would work, and the Dems would take credit?

Who cares who gets the credit at this point? Fix the darn economy.

What's to stop the Dems from claiming it is their government stimulus that improved the economy?

They will try, but since the results will be coming in over time perhaps our side can figure out a transparent method of keeping score to see the real-life cause/effect of each kind of stimulus???

Actually I would rather see the tax cuts done separately, say the second two years, and see how things play out... Spend us into poverty the first two years and cut taxes to the bone the second two years and see which two years has the greatest impact, in a good way.

This sounds very smart to me, and a bit more workable perhaps than a parallel implementation.

Ah, but part of Rush's plan is doing a side-by-side so that we'll know what to do during future recessions. If the government spending gets the credit, that's what gets repeated in the future.

I try to remember there are Lurkers reading the posts here, and perhaps some who can be reached. :-)

I’m hoping Stephen Harper’s government does something like that up here too.

Ha ha. Come on, it's already been done. We had the Democrats spend us into (then) unheard of budget deficits over the course of something like 40 years and Carter screw us over royally and then Reagan's tax cuts (implemented over three instead of one year) launched us on the longest economic recovery in U.S. history. We know what will happen. There's no need to go down the government spendthrift socialist loser way ever again.

Exactly! I say we go first and eliminate the need to waste the $540B.

You're right, of course, but it seems we now need to teach a new generation an old and true lesson.

...plus other tax payer reductions - $46 Billion

Would you please change "$46 Billion" to "$460 Billion" in the original post? It is a *big* difference...thank you.

Actually, this idea is only good for one reason, to back Obama into the corner. He nor the Dems have no intention of cutting spending and every intention of increasing taxes.

They say they want to reduce the budget. But they don't. What is their ultimate goal? Power. How do they achieve that? By destroying capitalism. Make the people dependant on government.

So yeah, the best thing we could hope to achieve through this is to make Obama stutter & stammer and look stupid. But, heck, it would be worth it if they happen to get that on videotape.

Yeah, even if this is all that is accomplished it helps to legitimately reduce his credibility among those easily influenced by Charismatic Leftists.

In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Rush's Bi-Partisan Plan, ready to email, katiekins1 put down the crack pipe long enough to type:

Barry and his slum dogs and Rush just threw the United Sates Subjects a bone.

[snip]

and clear channel conservative radio shows

[snip]

As a result of Barry's uncontrolled thirst for opiates his arrogance has morphed in to MALIGNANT NARSISTIC BEHAVIOR.

Wow.

I'm speechless

I was referring to Rush's plan and didn't necessarily mean that we should do it, just that if anyone tried it, it would have to be done separately.

I would just as soon not have any communist running this country and spending us into the ground.

As for telling me something I already know and lived through, thanks for being so condescending and showing your know it all attitude. I have voted for more Presidents than I care to remember and remember just about everything that has happened in this country since about the time I was 8 years old. I have seen freedom become just a word, one that most people don't know the real meaning of. Having actually experienced freedom when I was a boy and young man I know what we are missing, do you?

I'm just hoping that this plan is discussed at large for awhile so that people realize that there really are different ways to approach this problem and that we don't have to irrationally try to spend our way out of a debt-caused crisis.

which the Dems consider to be "spending"...

OK, I'll buy that. But not accepting revenue is not "spending", it's acceptable lower income. It's the use of the term "spending" I have a problem with.

The Dems being Dems, they have little clue about such things (at least most of them). So to have a shortfall in income being considered a "spending" increase by them is believable.
