After less than a week in office, Barack Obama's approval rating plunges 15 points
By DAVID GARDNER 26th January 2009
Barack Obama might have been in office for less than a week, but the euphoria is beginning to wane. The new President's approval ratings have fallen from a stratospheric 83 per cent to a more modest - although still impressive - 68 per cent.
Washington analysts said the scale of the drop in the Gallup poll underlines the immense challenges Mr Obama faces in trying to turn round the U.S.'s battered fortunes. He still remains vastly more popular than his predecessor George Bush - who left office with around 25 per cent approval.

15 points a week, so he’s got another 4 weeks until his approval rating is 8%. What will Olberman say then?

The announcement today of letting every state set their own automobile emission standards is sure to increase his popularity. Wait’ll auto prices go up 25% or 30% and you can’t buy fuel.
To: Steelfish
It’s an absurd number anyway.

You’ll never see a headline like that in the U.S. MSM.

No, no, no, the Daily Mail has the media terminology all wrong. Obama’s ratings haven’t “plunged,” they’ve merely “normalized.” Only Republican numbers “plunge,” “dive” or “freefall.”

LOL! With that sort of rapid plunge for O-Marxist born in Kenya - I am getting a tingle up my leg. ;-)
Any idea where Pelosi and Reid Congress is? They had about 10% last I looked. We really need to try to communicate our rage at the criminals in Washington. Especially the traitor RINOs.
DC politicians are worse than Madoff, rapists and child molesters at this point.
Someone in the NY Post web site said if Caroline Kennedy had become Senator that Son of Sam would have been able to beat her in the election. I almost choked I laughed so hard.
What is really sickening is the media attacked a decent and honest woman in Sarah Palin.

Give the boy a chance. When the sheeple that voted for realize the ‘gifts’ Obamer promised them don't materialize, they will turn on him. And I am looking for day to happen soon. Once tax cuts for the middle class promised during the campaign turn into tax hikes, people will be looking for his head on a platter.
On Immaculate Inauguration day, some Black people were interviewed. One lady said that Obama will pay for her gas and mortgage. This lady, among millions of others who voted for this fool and false prophet, will want to impeach him for lying to them. All the while the MSM will make him look like Jesus Christ on steroids.

Daily Mail is the best newspaper in the UK followed by the Daily Telegraph. I think the Barclay billionaire brothers own both papers.

I’ll make two long-term estimates here. By the end of March...he will be sitting at around 50 percent approval rating. And by September...it’ll be around 45 percent. At that point, he will level off. The group of independents who simply refused to vote for McCain, and turned to Obama...will dump him by late spring.
This is the harsh reality of being a president today. The media is not your friend, and will eventually ask stupid questions. Take the recovery package. If anyone starts asking about all this educational grant money in there and why its five times the amount for roads and bridges...then the house of cards falls apart.
To: Steelfish
People are realizing they’ve elected the most leftwing President in history. Oops
To: ozzymandus
Using global warming logic, Obama's approval rating will completely disappear in less than 6 weeks.

In a TV interview yesterday, he said the additional U.S. troops in Afghanistan will be engaging the enemy more. Asked if that means the public should expect more deaths, he said: 'I hate to say it, but yes, I think there will be. There will be an uptick.'
A pretty callous response...
Does someone have the figures on military lives lost (war casualties) under President Bush, and can we then start the official counter for Mr Obama? Then can we bang the drum loudly like the media did with President Bush?
