When Barack Hussein Obama places his hand on the Bible today to take the oath of office as 44th president of the United States, Barbara Nelson of Kenmore will undoubtedly think back to the day he was born. It was Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu.
“I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone,” said Nelson, referring to Dr. Rodney T. West, who died in February at the age of 98. Here’s the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: “‘So, tell me something interesting that happened this week,’” she recalls.
His response: “Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now that’s something to write home about.”
The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama.
“I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it,” said Nelson, knowing that her father, Stanley A. Czurles, director of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State College, would be interested in the “Stanley” connection.
She also remembers Dr. West mentioning that the baby’s father was the first black student at the University of Hawaii and how taken he was by the baby’s name.
“I remember Dr. West saying ‘Barack Hussein Obama, now that’s a musical name,’” said Nelson, who grew up in Kenmore and went to Hawaii in 1959 to be in Jo-Anne’s wedding party. When Nelson was offered a job as a newspaper reporter and photographer......

I won’t believe one way or the other but it is hard to see you reference Occam’s razor based on a web posted birth document.
Also you seem to have settled on ‘established facts’ when in fact nothing has been established with respect to Obama.
There are ‘facts’ that do weigh in the favor of those with suspicions:
1. Sub-Yatsen was born in China yet had a COLB from Hawaii.
2. Obama’s half-sister was born in Indonesia yet had a COLB in Hawaii.
The two facts above are not surprising in light of what FR has posted on the various forms of birth documentation available from the State of Hawaii, and the history that led Hawaii to issuing these various forms of documents.
The web posted birth document may in fact be valid but it does not prove birth in Hawaii which is indicated by a document entitled something similar to ‘Certificate of Hawaiian Birth’.
3. The legal cost is not an internet rumor as there have been links posted here on FR to various lawsuit filing documents, names of law firms, number and names of attorneys assigned and arguments used to block access to the long form vaulted birth certificate on the absurd basis (in Obama’s case) of ‘privacy’. The amount of $1 million may be a stretch but the cost cannot be small.
I will not say he was not born in Hawaii, and I will not say he was born in Hawaii because the ‘facts’ as yet established do not settle the issue. But given the facts above, there is justifiable ‘suspicion’ that leaves people remaining with uncertainty. Obama should be transparent on this issue yet he does not appear to help people remove their anxiety over it. If he would authorize his long form to be released, then he could garner trust and respect from those who are concerned that he appears to be hiding something.
When an elected president takes over control of the executive branch it is of first order concern that he/she establish credibility. Obama is not doing this.
There’s a photocopy of some Indonesia record book around, it does say Honolulu Hawaii, IIRC. Of course, that is not evidennce of anything other than that’s what the Indo authorities were told by his mother and stepfather, and they may or may not have had a HI COLB with that on it. No one knows what documentation of his birth says since no one has seen anything other than the facsimile posted on websites.

Show Stanley Ann Dunham's birth certificate that she was born in Kansas? I saw pictures of Stanely but no BC of her or her parents. Or are you assuming because that is the story? And if any part of what you are posting is true, then SCOTUS has precedent instead of the no comments and no standing that create multiple lawsuits to continue. Obama is the only one who can stop this train wreck.
Barack says Obama Sr is his father. On Obama's fake BC online it reads Obama Sr is his father. Being a bigamist does not negate the children born during the marriage.
Personally I think Obama was born in Kenya and then Stanley Ann brought him back to the US and Obama has a foreign born certificate of birth just like Maya has.
If Barack Obama was born in Hawaii then he has no reason to not show his long form BC. Unless it reads his mother was not a legal citizen either. Or he is hiding his amended BC that reads Barry Soetoro because he lied on his license to practice law. Which he has now not renewed in 2008. Along with his wife MO who was forced into a court ordered suspension in 2003. These two looking a little shakey for legal scholars.
From everything I’ve read and I will admit I have read about this obsessively for some time is this:
No one can say with certainty where he was born or what his citizenship status is. Anyone who claims otherwise must have seen his birth certificate, adoption papers, naturalization papers, foreign student application papers, passports, or other documentation.
No one really knows except people who have seen some of the above records, and they aren’t telling anyone.
When she registered for classes at UW in August 1961 she registered for extension courses, she did not actually attend classes until early 1962 if we can believe what the babysitter says. Various former high school classmates besides Susan Blake visited Ann and Jr while she was living in WA state with one mentioning visiting Ann after the 1962 World’s Fair which was held in Seattle from April 21, 1962 until it closed in October 21, 1962. Some of them were mentioned in an excerpt of a book which Michael Patrick Leahy has been writing about Jr. I don’t know if the Christian Faith and Reason website is back up yet or not but testimony from Ann’s friends was given in the above mentioned excerpt posted there.

You are mentioning the birth announcement which appeared in the August 13,1961 edition of “The Honolulu Advertiser” and the August 16,1961 edition of “The Star-Bulletin” but you fail to realize that the address of the home was NOT the residence of the Dunhams(they lived at 2277 Kamehameha Ave until moving to 2234 University Ave.) and that Obama Sr lived at 625 11th Ave in the St Louis Heights district. The owners of that specific home in 1961 were Orland and Thelma Lefforge. The birth announcement noted the birth of a boy but it doesn’t say where that baby was born.

Mrs. Nelson was an English teacher at Punahou. I remember having her in the Academy (the high school part of Punahou). I graduated a few years before Obama was there.
I hate it when that happens.
Okay, so all you need to do is conquer the problems and paradoxes of time travel and you’ll be set.
I sincerely doubt that Obama Sr. was the first black student at the University of Hawaii. It’s likely, though, that he was the first from Kenya.
There WERE other black students at the University of Hawaii, both male and female, at the time. While there were relatively few, they were not unheard of.
And, don’t forget, this was much later than the GI Bill students from WWII and the Korean War would have gone through the higher education system. Given the number of GIs that were stationed in Hawaii from 1940 onward, it is a statistical certainty that some American blacks would have attended UH during the 1950s. There were certainly some there in the early sixties, and some I can remember by name. One was my roommate.

I am not doubting she was an English teacher at Punahou, the article even states that, what I am questioning is her following the “official story line” when she says that Obama Sr had not seen Jr in eight years when he appeared at Punahou in 1971 for the presentation on Kenya. Ann and Jr left HI and were in WA state from August 1961 until early 1963. Obama Sr left HI on June 22, 1962 and headed on a U.S. tour before going to Harvard in fall 1962. Many people have fallen into the same “trap” if you will by following the story as Jr wrote it instead of doing the research. There are many spots on the internet where you will find it mentioned that Obama Sr left HI in 1963 instead of saying he left HI in 1962. Leaving in 1962, even if Ann and Jr were still there would still mean Jr was less than a year old when Obama Sr left HI!

Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen, wherever he was born, because his mother was one and his father was not validly married to his mother
If Obama was born in Kenya, according to US laws in effect at the time, Stanley could not have conferred US citizenship on him due to her age and lack of continuous residence in the US for a period of time (5 continuous years after the age of 14 I believe). So if he was born in Kenya it looks to me that he would be a Kenyan citizen.
Even if he did qualify for US citizenship, if he was born in Kenya he may not be a "natural born" US citizen (don't believe this issue has been considered in a court), and thus would be ineligible to be POTUS.
You see my point, though. Just sayin’.
