WASHINGTON (AP) Tens of thousands of abortion opponents rallied Thursday on the National Mall to mark the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade amid concerns they could face political setbacks under the new president.
---snip---
The rally stretched for about three blocks on the Mall and included many young people.

Obama and the rest of the left might turn a deaf ear, but the Lord surely hears the innocent blood cry out.
Yep, a bunch of poppycock. There were scads of people there. Three blocks? The march went on forever! It was very uplifting to see. I wish so much I could have been there.
My cable company, comcast, pulled my ewtn channel from the basic cable lineup and put it in an expanded cable lineup that would cost an additional fee to purchase. I cannot afford it right now, so details would be great on the march. I have never missed watching one til this year and you know how the msm covers it. pictures posted would be great as well. Thank you freepers!
IMO, this statement is deceptive. The RALLY before the March probably did stretch for about three blocks - and the blocks in Washington, DC are quite long. I suspect the crowd of people throughout those three blocks stood close together, which indicates that many more people attended than the AP writer implies.
I wasn't there this year but have attended in previous years, and I can tell you that if the RALLY crowd stretched for three blocks, there were a lot of people marching once the rally ended and the marching to the USSC began.
This is simply AP word-smithing intended to discourage readers and pro-life people across the country who weren't present. Don't let him trick you!
My 19 year old nephew went there with 50 students from his college. He said it was awesome!
Cancel your cable & get live streaming from the Internet.
can you get that on all tvs? Kids would have a heart attack if not LOL
3 blocks my a$$
Why would you expect the AP to tell the truth about the number of marchers??
. . . at 7 a.m.?
"Our Catholic School took 250 people to the March for Life 2009! The largest one that I can remember. Over 25,000 teens gathered for a rally and Mass at the Verizon Center... IT WAS FULL.. you cant even fill it for a Wizards game... but it was FULL today! We left at 5am from Annapolis and we didnt return until 7pm.
I have been going to the March for over 12 years and I have never seen a March for Life that had more people then today! The weather was wonderful- and thank God... because the March started at 2pm and by the time we arrived at the Supreme Court it was 4:45pm. Usually we are home by 4pm and we weren't even finished marching by that time!!!!
The march was SOOOOOOO LONG- we had a group that finished the March and we hadn't even STARTED marching.... and there were many, many groups behind us. IT WAS PACKED!!! I am shocked and so upset that the AP said there were only tens of thousands- and the march was only 3 blocks long! LIES! It went on forever.. and I don't remember it EVER being this long!!! We're they even there?
I think alot of people came out because of the FOCA bill that Obama said he would sign. Our teens held up a sign and chanted "Obama, Your MAMA, was Pro-life"

She told me she was at 7th and Madison when she got a call from the front of the group that had already arrived at the Supreme Court building so the march extended from the USSC to 7th and Madison and at least 3 more blocks full of people behind her.
Based on previous marches (numbering 250,000) she told the buses they would arrive back (as always) at 4pm. Because of the larger crowd, they did not get to the pickup spot until 2 hours later.
Eye-witness pictures!
Despite receiving 2 press releases, Colorado Right to Life’s
March for Life today reports the 3 main stream TV stations
missing in action.
In years past, when our March was held on the Saturday prior to the
Roe v Wade decision, the MSM claimed they had no staffing on
the weekends.
This year they proved themselves liars!
I want to see pictures of all the trash left after the march.
Oh wait. There WAS NO TRASH left after the pro-LIFE march!!!!
well, we already knew they were liars, didn’t we?
I saw some coverage on Fox News today though
You know what? I just got the biggest boost of optimism that I’ve had in years. You know the old saying: What comes around goes around. We now have the Boomer generation in charge of the world, but Praise God, these kids marching for life will have their day in charge. The old hippies will get their have their “karma”. Hahahaha. I won’t live to see it, but a lot of you will. Won’t that be the greatest day?
Sheesh...that is the most convoluted post I’ve ever made. What goes around, comes around. Hippies will have their “karma”. Rest....I need rest.
I watched EWTN’s live coverage on the computer. Check the website for replays.
