Dear Cubby,
I was seriously depressed all last summer as I could read the writing on the wall, and since then I’ve put the world and myself in God’s hands and am just enjoying each day as best I can.
Watching comedies (like Third Rock from the Sun) and reading (Fleeced) and got all ten seasons of Stargate and Smallville second hand and watched them all. Now we are watching 24, and the Unit, and CSI: NY, and Lost and Smallville regularly.
We subscribed to the Wall Street Journal and it is delivered to our driveway every morning. It’s fabulous and cheaper than buying a paper at the newsstand.
Also we are now doing Netflik and I’m watching all the old Stargate Atlantis, and a bunch of other stuff hubby orders.
So we are entertained and I am avoiding the news or just shaking my head and thinking, “Science can’t be b.s.’ed for that long. Reality is going to catch up with the Dems and the gullible American public.” I’m sorry for this country, but reality can’t be denied forever and the consequences will have to be learned by a couple of generations that were brainwashed in school and just don’t know better. It is the way it is.
God’s laws are the physics of our social order, and Man is fallen and will eventually mess things up so bad that the End Times will be here. Luckily we have our Savior to take comfort. Just wish I’d made the cut for the rapture. It’s going to be weird if this is the Tribulation coming. Somehow I’m in a mental place to be able to take that as simply God’s truth, and accept it. So, I feel lucky now that I have already passed through my depression to see anew the true Hope of the World.
We are having a nice gentle rain now, and God’s world is beautiful. So, I am going to enjoy it while we have it.

I can’t believe he has only been gone 2 weeks. I can’t even read the newspaper because there is always a huge picture of the OddOne right there in your face. AND all of his pics are “cute”. Obviously, they aren’t going to be picking out the worse one of 500 shots like they did with W.
Man o man, once FLOTUS gets going we are really, really, really going to miss the classy, lovely Laura more than we do now.
I’ve passed a link to the thread to a couple of friends who feel the way we do and are having withdrawals. I know they will be just as grateful for this fabulous post as I am.

Yes, I hear you, and am coping much the same. I love the cable choices on TV. But I’m really bad - I love watching 2 and a half Men. And Dog Whisperer, and TCM. I’ve enjoyed Hogan’s Heros anew! It’s all catharsis. Reading a good book has always been my main pleasure, so am doing some of that too, altho my eyes (sight) are starting to annoy me....
I can’t stand the newspaper anymore. We bought a Sunday edition a couple of weeks ago just to find homes for sale, and it was sooo sad. The classified ads have fallen off until there’s barely anything there. Very little in the way of homes for sale, pets to buy, garage sales. Forget jobs. The internet has become the main source, I think.
In our large population, there were 2 open houses listed.
PR, I don’t think you missed the rapture at all. I’m still here, as well as my entire church full of God’s children.
I was raised pre-trib rapture too, but my horizons have broadened, and I’m just pro-rapture now.
Everytime something horrid happens in the news, I’ll tell hubby - there you go - end times!! He just laughs at me, but I’m feeling more strongly about that as time goes on.
So, maybe O is all in God’s ultimate plan. And yes, we are definately sheltered in the arms of God. If it’s the end times, it HAS to get bad. Just keep your eye on Israel. God has a plan.... And, He is still in control.
