As a former college student,I strongly advise you to warn your daughters about alcohol poisoning. Campus environments are loaded with immoral stuff and kids are so innocent they sometimes go along with what their friends are doing. I knew in my gut to pass up any drugs, but alcohol did not seem to be dangerous or deadly to a young girl like me. I never drank in high school. I was extremely sheltered, living on our farm, working there when not in school. All I ever saw when I was growing up were responsible adults having small amounts of alcohol.
I was an innocent farm girl when I went to college. My parents said nothing about the dangers of alcohol. I was raised so right I never touched drugs. One night at a concert (Pat Benatar, yes she rocked) I foolishly tried something other than beer and had straight Jack Daniels and drank it quickly due to being nervous on a first date.
I am sure I suffered alcohol poisoning that night in the dorm. Kids die from that every year, as you no doubt see in the news. It is so easy. Kids think hard liquor is the same as beer in potency. That was the only trouble I ever was in, and it nearly killed me. Please tell your daughters to be very careful.
