[snip] Obama never directly mentioned Bush's name after the ritual thank you at the beginning of his Inaugural Address, but the context of some of his remarks was lost on no one. He criticized "our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age." He promised to "restore science to its rightful place." He rejected "as false the choice between our safety and our ideals." He assured the rest of the world "that we are ready to lead once more."
Some writers, including David Sanger of The New York Times, concluded that it was the first time since Franklin D. Roosevelt took over from Herbert Hoover in 1933, that an incoming president used his Inaugural Address to so evidently repudiate his predecessor as he headed for the door.
Obama quickly followed words with action. The day after the inauguration, on his first full day in office, he instructed military commanders to draft a plan to withdraw combat forces from Iraq, and on Thursday he signed executive orders calling for the closing the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and reversing Bush's policies on interrogations.

Class act.
Obama reminds me of a retired teacher. No class.
He’s no Christian. There isn’t an ounce of grace in that man.
I do not like Obama!
All insults were intention and willful. Therefore, no one will convince me that “the one” has any class.
The only way O can elevate himself is to put our President Bush down.
This is typical of people with no accomplishments of their own.
phony or his racist angry wife have no class what so ever.
To think Bush was classy , made the handover very smooth, was no keyboards missing etc.
On the other hand phony is making a campaign speech while his supporters are trashing the city with their own trash.
Simply the worst inauguration speech I have ever seen or heard in my life.
Classless Chicago thug.
His first act, was to take the heat off of islamo facist terrorists.
Think about that. His very first act.
One word: Jerk
Did anyone here expect the guy the leftwingnuts lifted over Hillary Clinton to do anything other than this?
I didn’t.
The thing is, it might have been toned down a bit, but McCain undoubtedly would have engaged in much of the same thing, given he simply never got over losing to Bush in 2000.
Your post reminded me of the jokes Bill Cosby used to tell on the Fat Albert show.
And as far as “no class” goes, I think we’ve seen all that we need to to confirm our pre-defined assumptions about democRats. No class indeed.
Obama lacks maturity.
Yeap, I noticed it and knew that President Bush was thinking.. “why have I been nice to this fool”.
What goes around will come around.
Boomerangs in the back!
He lacks class also.
It’s also typical of those with a very low real opinion of themselves.
BO’s just another affirmative action hire. Put in a position that he’s not qualified for just because of his minority status.
That was a lightning fast consultation with our military commanders on the ground in Iraq, wasn’t it?
Remember when he promised to have that consultation before making this decision?
He’s a Matchstick Man, without a doubt.
Whenever I hear this sort of idiotic rhetoric, I have the urge to move as far from a major metropolitan area as possible.
That would be wise.
Isn’t it amazing that the population centers voted to be attacked?
Isn’t it also amazing that the elderly voted to NOT have lifesaving treatments in their old age?
Well, to be fair, I was mad that Bush did not do a similar thing to/about Clinton in his address. Classy or not.
It just shows that the Dems are street fighters and the Gop are country club golfers in terms of battling for the public consciousness.
I say that without a pro or con...it just IS.
