Ann Coulter was in Hollywood, California this morning at Paramount Studios to appear on the Dr. Phil show. Southern California's RonDog coordinated a group effort to support Ann. About thirty members of Free Republic showed up at the studios around 7:30 am.
Jim Robinson, his wife Sheila, and thier son Chris came down from Fresno to join in. Also attending were a number of the Youngs Republicans from UCLA. Ann didn't have to want for more support. Thanks to RonDog, we had her back.
I would say we made up between 25 and 33% of the audience. Ann's contributions to the show were supported vigorously. Also appearing the same program were Alan Colms, Scott McLellan, and another gentleman whose forte was economics. Sadly, I am drawing a blank on his name and organization right now. Other contributors to this thread will let you know.
The topic of the program was what do Americans need to know to do well under this administration. Dr. Phil asked some pretty good questions, and moderated in a manner that allowed Ann to make a good presentation, even when other guests were appearing with her.
Deborah Norville made a video appearance on the program, that lauded Obama's speach considerably more than was deserved.
Dr. Phil wasn't a pushover for Ann, but he wasn't what I would call antagonistic by any means. He asked some pointed questions related to her style of writng, her opinons of Obama, and her overall outlook. All in all, I thought he did a very nice job. As for Ann, she hit the ball out of the park a few times. I thought she represented herself and our views quite well.
It was interesting for me to take note of the people who clapped in support of Obama. At times some of these same people were clapping at comments Ann had made. That was nice to see.
This program will air tomorrow, January 22nd, 2009. I would urge folks to take the time to watch the show. I think you'll find the presentation to be a nice one.
Ann touched on the topic of people who like to play the victim these days. The subject of the impact of single mothers was mentioned at one point, and Dr. Phil asked Ann to come back in the middle of February to participate in a pannel discussing that issue.
After the program, Ann joined us for an early lunch at a local restaurant. We packed the place to overflowing. Ann mingles with the attendees. She posed for lots of pictures and talked to most of the people who attended.
Much thanks to RonDog for coordiantion our support for Ann. Thanks to Jim, Shiela, and Chris for coming down.
A good time was had by all.
Not to worry, D1.Syncro has another thread up. Heres the link to his post.
THAT thread is Ann's regular weekly column:

It will not be easy for President B. Hussein Obama.More than half the country voted for him, and yet our newspapers are brimming with snippy remarks at every little aspect of his inauguration. Here's
a small sampling of the churlishness in just The New York Times: -- The American public is bemused by the tasteless show-biz extravaganza surrounding Barack Obama's inauguration today. -- There is something to be said for some showiness in an inauguration. But one felt discomfited all the same. -- This is an inauguration, not a coronation. -- Is there...
Yowsah!
Jim, Sheila and Chris were there? Wonderful! Miss Slippy and I would walk over broken glass for them. We like them that much.

A nice contingent of FReepers, including the famous Robinson family of Fresno, along with some UCLA young Republicans made it to the Dr. Phil show this morning to give support to Ann Coulter.Okay, so the headline was hyperbolic. We
actually didn't invade. We got reservations. It was an interesting show with Annie not shy whatsover in telling the L.A. audience the way things should be. Thanks to Ron Dog for his organizing skills in making it happen.Ann had a great deal of support in the audience as she opposed Alan Colmes and then lying, backstabbing, weasel Scott McClellan....
WOW
Such clean, nice looking young people. No angry, ‘hate America’ blank stares.
OMG Ann, eat a few cheeeseburgers

Thank you.
Thanks GOP Poet. Sorry you couldn’t make it.
I wasn’t aware of that. Thanks for the mention.
I have not been able to receive NBC on my repeater transmitter tower for weeks. County has announced they will not upgrade to D TV and that they will shut is down completely on 2/17. For those of us in flyover country, these repeater transmitters are vital, and there was not one word about them in the Congressional Legislation regarding the D TV changeover. We are left without a conplete national network.
Dr. Phil airs in Glendale, California, on Channel 2 (CBS) on my cable service from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
Thanks for your response. Photos are up.
Thanks Hosepipe.
Thank you.
No, no discussion of places to move. There was discussion of how the Democrats behave when they win and lose.
Among other things Ann mentioned Carter, who left office with twenty percent inflation, high unemployment, and hostages in Iran. And yet the new Republican President treated him with respect. She contrasted that with Obama’s insulting comments about the Bush years and also those who booed Bush during yesterdays festivities.
One person objected, and then Ann mentioned the movie that was made, that actually raised the issue of assassinating Bush.
Ann made the point that the Democrats are hands down winners when it comes to inappropriate behavior directed at those who disagree with them.
Cool!
