What anti-intellectual drivel. One cannot wish Obama to succeed without answering the question “succeed at WHAT?”
Answer me that and I’ll let you know if I support him succeeding in accomplishing those goals.
I hope that Obama does what is best for our nation and I will support his actions when he does. That is all.

I do wish to succeed. I wish for him to repeal decades of gun control and uber-regulation, start along the path of getting government out of the socialism business, and get government out of the way of the rest of us doing the things that we do.
It would be pretty churlish of me if he accomplished those things and I didn’t applaud him for it.
Being patriotic doesn’t mean a person is too stupid to know good from bad.

It may sound a little strong to state that legislators "hate" the pre-born child but hate is an absence of love and love means to wish another well. There is nothing about abortion that wishes the pre-born child well. The preservation of abortion "rights" is already an absence of love for the pre-born child but the passage of FOCA could be construed as nothing less than active and positive disregard, even hatred, for these our brothers and sisters. To paraphrase St. John, "If anyone says, 'I love God,' but votes for FOCA, thus showing a disregard for his pre-born brother or sister, he is a liar." I hope with all my heart Obama is a spectacular failure. I do so because I am a patriot. I do not want a marxist to be successful in irreversibly damaging our country. I do not want bigger government. I do not want more intrusive government. I do not want government to be my parent. I do not want to be forced into univesal health care. I do not want more of my money legally confiscated from me by government and given to others who did nothing of merit to earn it except belong to a group of people Baby Killer Obama happens to lavish favor upon. I do not want the 2nd amendment taken away because he only wants his security detail to have firearms.
I will recycle the libs own words against them - you know the ones they used against Bush all these 8 years - it is patriotic to stand against this president. Only now, those words are 100% correct.
And further, I not only stand against Baby Killer Obama, but Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Schumer, Feingold, Dodd, Barney Frank, Franken, and every other piece of scum that by Satan’s power got elected through warped constituents and/or rigged elections.
They can all just go Obama themselves. We need to use this time to politically re-arm ourselves and find people who actually believe and live conservative values, and get them into all levels of government.
However, we must differ on the definition of success. I do wish that BHO is successful in reducing the size of government, reducing the tax burden, respecting and enforcing the right to life, and in protecting the country from terrorism.

Succeed at what? The US isn’t here for Obama is realize his personal dream......he’s here to be OUR leader, and help the US realize its dreams and fulfill its ideals. That’s what a patriot does......supports the countries and its ideals....not those of its leaders.

I don’t support any of his stated positions..so why would I want him to succeed in implementing them? I will fight him at every opportunity. Phone, email, mail to my congresscritter.

A patriot can love his country, but not his government.
Barrack Obama's proposed policies will have disastrous effects on the country. So, as a patriot, my sincere hope is that he fails in every way and leaves office in 2013 (or sooner) in disgrace.
To be a real Patriot one must march lockstep in line to the will of the new president and dedicate their lives in servitude to his goals, pledging themselves to follow his commands without question.....

Succeed in what? Succeed in fighting terrorism & terrorists? Succeed in maintaining democracy in Iraq? Succeed in keeping us safe as Pres. Bush has from terrorist attacks? Succeed in fighting against Communism? Succeed in getting rid of the regimes in Iran and N. Korea?
Yeah, I want him to succeed in all those things.

I actually do want Obama to succeed, but I don’t think he will. At least, he won’t succeed according to how I would define success for a President.
