John Luddun of the British Geological Survey told New Scientist that this may well result in a revision of exploration models for kimberlites and the diamonds they host.1 It could instead lead to a revision of old-age thinking about diamond formation and the age of the earth. With this proposalthat deep diamonds formed when Gondwana didcomes the instant removal of about 2.8 billion years of evolutionary time (93 percent of the standard age)! That these evolutionary time scales are largely fictional is corroborated by the presence of very young carbon-14 in the diamonds mineral matrices.2...

Did I say CRI? I meant ICR. Sorry about that?
To: Misterioso
What is CRI? Fairyland, web site!!! The earth is only 8,000 years old and that sort of fun stuff.

Interesting but then being a Christian I have always taken Scientific theory of the age of anything older than 6,000 years with a grain of salt. Someone always pops up with a newer theory based on new findings.
The ones I like most are the theories arrived at when finding a tooth or a fragment of a skull.

Speculation does not create fact!!! A significant percentage of evolutionary thought is really speculation. There was a thread a year or so ago in which footprints of a previously unknown dinosaur were uncovered. The story detailed the animal's size, its diet, the fact that it could both walk and swim, and when it lived. All that from about 8 footprints.
Could be true. But there's no way to KNOW. It's all speculation and will never be anything but speculation. But some call it science.

Hey, no fairy bashing please. The proper term is “faux science.” Fairies have rights too. :)

I’ve been 120 feet below the deck, looking at 260 million year old coal seams. How’d they get there in 8,000 years ?

Are you saying your placemarker should be used to determine where the nonsense begins?
To: Misterioso
Creation Research Institute, a totally unbiased source fanatically dedicated to anything that proves the opinion that the Bible says the earth is 6013 years old.
To: Dustbunny
Oooops, should have added.
I know the earth is billions of years old.
God's time frame is not the same as ours. He created the earth is 6 days of his time frame, not 6 days of our time frame. A day in God's time frame might be 100 trillion or more days in our time frame.

these evolutionary time scales are largely fictional is corroborated by the presence of very young carbon-14 in the diamonds mineral matrices. The presence of carbon-14 means nothing. It is the ratio of carbon-14 to carbon-12 that matters. A half-life of 5700 years does not mean all the carbon 14 will be gone after a million years or even a billion years.
