With President-elect Barack Obama set to take the oath of office to begin his first term, one New York Congressman wants to make it possible for him to one day serve a third. Representative Jose Serrano (D) has introduced a bill in the House to abolish the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, which limits presidents to two consecutive terms or ten years in office.

There will be at least 13 states to not ratify such an amendment should Congress approve of one. Hasn’t this been introduced along with the elimination of the Electoral College in previous congresses? Nothing new and the results will be the same, imo.

Representative Jose Serrano (D) is a vile Marxist scam artist whose heros are (for real) Castro and Chavez. El Presidente for Life is right up this cockroach’s alley.

The Republicans shoule take the complete opposite track: support an Amendment to Term Limit the corrupt House and Senate. Six years for each.

It is a serious election winner, IMHO.

It is just some congressman’s signal to the zero that he is 100% willing to kiss Obama’s ass anytime, anyplace.

"3/4s of the states today could not agree on thing one. "

You missed the point entirely.

The bill is absurd.
Its never going to happen that 3/4s of the states will ratify anything like that. Therefore, I surmise that the author has a somewhat different agenda in mind.

<<<Do you think that agenda might be to open constitution to a constitutional convention...?

Why do they even need it? They didn’t need to change the Constitution regarding being natural born. Run him and elect him as many times as they want. Who will stop them?

I'm guessing he's not all that familiar with the Constitution.

I just hope they are stupid enough to push this. Because, if they do....petitions will be flying everywhere to institute term limits on their congressional seats.

If they are going to play fast and loose with the Constitution, let them reap the whirlwind.

Thank God we have a Second Amendment!

Thank God we can buy guns before they attempt to repeal or reinterpret the Second Amendment!
