This thread (if it survives the moderators) is meant to be an end of the Republic commemorative. Bracketed by end of the Julian calendar and the Chinese New year, I thought a repository of comments marking the rise of a new leftist messiah to be sardonic and fitting.
Before any FReepers hit the ABUSE button, please look around youself . . . with kooky vanities about just-the-right-puppy-breeds and the non-stop religious scripts and debates abounding on NEWS/ACTIVISM, I thought a simple question about what conservatives were personally considering doing during the promise of a new age of fascism might be worthwhile.
So, given that we're all of a conservative mindset and that (as adults) we all recognize what the next four years (or decade and beyond) might herald, I ask: What are your plans? Where do you plan to go and what do you plan to do in years of the coming darkness?

I haven’t really planned exactly all that I was going to start this week, and I’m still trying to convince hubby to put my “hothouse” shelves back up in the front room -— although I think he used those boards to build my shelves in the bathroom :)
If we were able to survive this past year, we can survive anything -— even though we would prefer that at least one of us have a truly steady income.
Hey, drop me a line sometime about an idea Myself and few others have been kicking around. You might find it interesting for somebody of your skill set. No get rich deal, just an idea for expanding self-reliance and broadening the anti-christ resistance.
My grandparents survived hard times by being frugal and self reliant, we'll do the same while giving the parasites as close to nothing to sustain themselves as possible.
I'm betting they'll starve before we do.
My plans are to walk as close to God Almighty as possible.
The Blood of Jesus covers me; cleanses me; shields me from all manner of horror.
It will eventually not matter greatly if I shall be a martyr or take the first ‘elevator’ !!!!UP!!!!
I get to be with HIM eternally. HE has promised to never leave me nor forsake me.
Those who call on HIM shall be saved.
ALL OTHERS ARE LOST . . . UTTERLY LOST.
Scripture is clear that this time will be the worst since the world was made and that there never will be a worst time.

Certainly stocking up on food and whatever else God leads is wise.
But the most critical prep is spiritual.
I think it would be great for all those who could . . . to wear black armbands tomorrow. . . . much as was done during Tienanmen.
No flame from me. Here are my plans:
1. Pray. Pray daily for the safety of me and my family. Pray daily that God changes the hearts of every Marxist and Marxist sympathizer in our government. Pray daily for the Jewish Israelis.
2. Read my Bible daily and learn more about what He tells me who to be and what to do in these times.
3. Continue to live debt-free.
4. Be a positive example of a conservative to those I meet and those I already know.
5. Continue my self-imposed boycott of Hollywood since 11/5/08. I can’t explain how much better this is and how much I’ve learned from reading more and TV-ing less.
6. Look for more ways to save money - including running a larger pantry.
7. Improve my health the best I can so I can reject socialized medicine.
8. Volunteer at my local Christian mission that provides an alternative to welfare and government entitlement programs to the needy.
9. Learn to garden. Starting with an indoor. I figure if I can do this, I can do anything.
10. Be very aware of my community. They’re always telling us to “remain vigilant” well now is the best time I can think of.
I also plan on attending daily Mass and praying the Rosary for our nation. I invite all of you to attend a Daily Mass somewhere and pray for our nation.

You would really be surprised about how much you can actually grow in a very small space. I handle the gardening list, let me know if you want on it, there’s always lots of good info from lots of folks from all over the place.
Not going far, if anywhere. Meeting with an agent to refinance the house down to the current interest rates now that I’ve been doing Dave Ramsey’s plan for six months and am almost debt-free. I’m planning a much larger garden and adding some pet rabbits. If things go really south, the rabbits will be bred for offspring which will become meat.

We’ve been running candidates from the grassroots up for some time. If you’ll recall, the class of ‘94 congressional elects went nowhere. The pubbie powerstructure didn’t seem to care for the upstarts. Concerning the platform, well, that’s just playdough as far as the RNC is concerned - witness the ‘global warming’ crap inserted at the national level just for the Manchurian Candidate McCain.
As somebody that has worked in Republican campaigns since 1973, I’d say that your formula for success needs a few revisions somewhere along the line.

I’ll be starting a four-year boycott of network television. What I’m already seeing nauseates me. Tuesday will be devoted to family and friends, with the television off.
Don’t forget if you get partial military disability to get the full you dope yourself up so you’re acting disoriented, walk on crutches and bandage yourself up on the visits to the VA. (I actually had an in law that did this and it worked.) Had another relative who had been on 80% disability so he got his brother in law, a local state senator, to somehow get him the other 20%. Don’t ask me how but they’re BIG demoncRATS and crooks.
I’m always looking for input, but I have a serious sun issue in my current plot. Simply put, I need space and sun. Food for a family for an entire year is something that takes space (apologies to Mel Bartholomew) and adequate sunlight.
Same, Getting a bigger boat but hanging around the West coast. Getting a 10 shot 45 cal pistol(got two rifles), and a high pressure water pump for the boat(better than a Bazooka for taking out borders). Keeping the plane too, for quick get aways.
Meanwhile I am blocking all stations except for cartoons for the grand kids.
when the middle and second half of we boomers were born, our parents were tapped out....we got the second hand stuff, no piano lessons, no brass coated shoes....
the perspective of people like me....born 1953...and one brother above me and two brothers below me is entirely different than the oldest two in our family....limousine liberals lapping up all the riches while wanting everyone else to pay more taxes etc....
