I left the Republican party in 2004, when I realized that they were only using the abortion issue as a carrot to lead me to vote for their careers. I haven’t regretted my decision since. With rare exceptions, they are phonies, they are statists, they embrace protectionism and burdensome regulations and subsidies and various other interventions into the free market, they get nothing done on abortion, they do nothing to repeal laws and institutions that even most Americans would like to see done away with or reformed. They are simply looking after their own career interests.

I have an idea. We should create a new political party called the Freedom Party. Imagine that. The Freedom Party vs the Democrat Party. I like the sound of it.

I realize that you cannot be completely STUPID, so your statement:

Hey Dan, some children would rather fight Republicans then fight the real enemy, Marxist Obama and his Democrat majority Congress.

These third party loons have party leaders who blend in with the Left Wing:

Anti War, 9/11 Truthers, legalize drugs, close Gitmo, some are pro amnesty, pro gay marriage.

Many on FR are trolls to divide and destroy the Republicans which only builds up the Democrats.

Their Third Party gave us Clinton and has made a possible Al Franken vistory.

Bottom line, closet Left Wing loons.

means that YOU are the enemy, since you claim to support "compromise".

There is an old saying that defines insanity as doing the same thing over and over and yet expecting different results. How many times are conservatives expected to "hold their noses" and expect a different result??

As of the recent election, I switched to unaffiliated.

Delmar: "What are you doin' out in the middle of nowhere?"
Tommy Johnson: "Well, I had to be at that there crossroads last midnight. Sell my soul to the devil."
Everett: "Well' ain't it a small world, spiritually speakin'. Pete and Delmar just been baptized and saved. I guess I'm the only one that remains unaffiliated."

*means that YOU are the enemy, since you claim to support “compromise”.*

Your assumption does not make it a fact.

Paul, Baldwin, Barr, etc. are the enemy. They support
many key views of the left.
Anti War, 9/11 Truthers, amnesty, pro gay marriage,
close Gitmo, etc.

Your bunch don’t just compromise, you fall in line with the left.

I worked for Reagan when he first ran for gov.
I am with groups who counter the left, such as Code Pinkos, pro Hamas, 50,000 Mexicans, etc.

You might want to join some irrelevant party like the Libertarians. That way you will also become irrelevant. In GOP you are just the minority party at the moment. In the 3rd parties not only your party is irrelevant, YOU also become irrelevant. If that is your choice, nothing stopping you.

Heartfelt sentiments are not to be argued against. I offer the point that political parties are always disappointing, and never more so when they lose both their way and a critical election. Time in opposition though tends to refocus attention on first principles. Given time, the GOP may yet justify your support.

I left the Republican Party in 1996. That said, it seems this writer is engaged in a bit of over-the-top vitriol.

THe argument over Obama’s birth certificate and citizenship is a dead issue. Not because it isn’t valid, but because the political powers-that-be have already covered their tracks and sealed the evidence — literally.

Calling Barack Obama an “illegal alien” is presumptuous without proof, and counterproductive to trying to retake the Government in the next 2 elections — 2010 & 2012. This author may not be willing to call Barack Obama his president, but he WILL BE President, acknowledge him or not.

The election is over. Time to decide if we can mount a real Conservative political movement to retake Washington —or opt for a more “radical” and outside the box plan to save the Republic. Gives us all something to think about, no?

Well, that fits, because I have only One G-d. ...left the others behind in my former religion with its romanticism (feminism, etc.) and family breaking. My priorities were mixed up. Now, it’s G-d, family and country for me, in that order.

I want to be known as a principled independent conservative.

Independent conservatives who won't compromise America's fundamental premises are the only hope for our free republic, in my opinion.

Although I haven't quite made it to this point yet, I certainly agree with the sentiments of this letter. More and more, I'm beginning to think it is time for the GOP to die, in part because those in the party apparatus are arrogant and view conservatives in much the same way that liberal Democrats do. They stand athwart of any opportunity to present a unified, clear message that Americans can get behind. Instead, the RINO's that have destroyed the GOP in the northeast (and those like them) are the ones that want to run the party and set the agenda. Obviously, this is stupidity. The problem with starting a new party is that it will take a while to build it into a competitive squad that will truly challenge the Democrats' stranglehold on D.C. And in the meantime, the Dems will grow even stronger. So, I guess there are no easy answers right now.

"stands for nothing except the satisfaction of its quest—no...lust—for unbridled political power"

That is what the Democrat party stands for, not the Republicans and you are too ignorant to see that. Calling you an idiot would be too kind, so I will not post what I would like to say. If you want to blame the ills on the Republicans when we have Pelosi, Reid and now Zero in power, you are no conservative. Blame them. To that though, you would have to be honest. Not sure you have it in you.

If you want to blame the ills on the Republicans when we have Pelosi, Reid and now Zero in power, you are no conservative.

The Republicans held the Presidency, both houses of Congress, and the Judiciary for six years and all that the taxpayer got was a massive expansion of Big Government.
