McCain won the party’s nomination.
Agreed. The pubbies, our last viable hope, abandoned our national principles. Finding myself without an organized Party to act within, I shall act alone.
exactly
yes I know but it was the media and those independents what went for McCain.
If the media had given the same attention and good coverage to say Hunter, Tancredo then the outcome would have been different
We have to stop in dependants from voting in our primaries, It should be republican and that is it
He got the votes
If we want more conservatives then we have to stop letting the Dems and independents vote in our primaries.
If it was just republicans then McCain would not have been our nominee.
The message the GOP needs is get back to principles and start fighting back instead of quitting all the time.
We need to get more conservatives into teaching, professors, media, judges.
Media especially
yes I know he got the votes maybe I am not explaining this enough.
The media went and became a cheerleader for Mccain, the independents and many republicans went along with it and while it would be nice to think every republican follows politics they do not.
They like Dems sit in their front room and watch the media and then believe them.
Exactly! All these McCain haters either did not work hard enough for their candidate or are not effective campaigners. Speaking for myself McCain was my last choice in GOP field, but I voted for him in GE as the better alternative to Zero. I am not stupid enough to cut my ears off to spite the nose.
no one was going to beat obama no one it didn’t matter who got the nomination
this entire thread is just stupid imho
McCain isn’t a candidate any more. This (hatred) is getting old. Drop it.
"I didn't leave the Republican Party: they left me."
Colorado: a place with many Texans and things of interest to Texans in it. Once in a while, Texas ranchers will fly in to help save the day against the more evil interests. Sincerely and honestly...
So? What's your point?
Last I checked, McCain is STILL a U.S. Senator, and his intentions are well known with regard to amnesty for illegal aliens, to the introduction of carbon credits, and to the general expansion of Big Government into the lives of every American, including you and your family.
And you want me to just shut up?
I distinctly remember you during the election telling me to just shut up and vote for McCain.
The man is a danger to the conservative movement both inside and outside the GOP, especially since every one of his actions is immediately branded as "conservative."
So no, I won't shut up. I won't "drop it" until McCain permanently leaves office.
never said other wise
My point was the media fawned over McCain and then went against him once he was chosen.
Independents voted much more for McCain than conservatives.
Which is why I think our primaries should be for just republicans.
My other point was that we need to put in a decent conservative against McCain in his district as we have to do for other rino’s.
I choked back my bile and voted for him once and I won’t do it again.
> Remember the GOP was formed and had a sitting POTUS in

Yes, it was a fascinating time. I don’t really know how it happened. I think it was coalition of federalists, abolitionists, and other splinter groups.
Federalism was a rising force, in response to the threats of secession, and abolitionism was rampant among the grass roots in the North.
Linclon’s performances in the Lincoln-Douglass debates catapulted the Republicans into national prominence.
But Lincoln was a true statesman with a very strong populist appeal.
Today, however, the media destroys anybody with those qualities who does not push the Leftist agenda. Look at what they’ve done to Sarah Palin.
The press learned from their mistakes with Reagan. He was allowed to rebound. The press isn’t making making those mistakes again. They will continue relentlessly hitting Palin and anybody else they perceive as a threat.
The chances of getting anybody like Reagan elected again are near zero, if things remain the same.
I’m one of them. I’ve spent time in Colo. many summers. I love it. I especially like Estes Park and Ouray .
In the most recent election for the U.S. Senate seat held by the RINO Lindsey Graham, there WAS a conservative challenger: Bob Conley. The only problem: he was a Democrat.
So, let's face it. Let's face reality here.
It's time to wake up and smell the coffee, folks. The Republican Party of 2009 stands for nothing except the satisfaction of its questno...lustfor unbridled political power. And far too many Freepers are either too daft or too ignorant to recognize this fact, or they are so used to voting for the (R), regardless of whether the (R) is actually conservative, that anything else is just too scary to contemplate.
In other words, any Freeper who voted for McCain just got duped, big time. [And, unless you wrote in just! Sarah Palin on the ballot, yes, you voted for McCain.] So, in the future, consider standing up for what you believe, and vote for the candidate who best represents your beliefsregardless of what letter follows his (or her!) name!
