Many bicyclists out here are really ‘in your face’ types who believe they own the road. I'd love to know who was actually in the wrong.

In most states, cyclists have equal use of the road. There is no excuse for what this AH did. He deserves what’s coming to him.

I don’t hate bicyclists. We are bicyclists. You really have to know the arrogance of some of the cyclists out here to understand my comment.

Bike riders used to be nice. Now, in honesty, they are the most abusive, aggressive, judgemental jerks you can find anywhere.

Besides,, law of the sea says the smaller more maneuverable craft must avoid the bigger one. A bike has better visibility and maneuverability than a car. The poor doctor,, they broke his window!

Rules of the road? ‘Bizzyclatists’ must also comply. If you rear end someone, you are obviously not in control, following too closely and are at fault (Judge Judy said so).

PS-Mandeville Canyon Road is a beautiful, deep canyon and only 2 lanes. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn these cyclists wouldn’t let him pass so he could get home. Yes, they do act like that out here.

so they were tailgating and they were at fault.

I suppose they were wearing those cute spandex girdles and those pointed headed helmets. spiffy.

I admit that I don’t live out there and bicyclists in my area might be much more polite, but I’ve seen Freepers applauding motorists who run over cyclists or run them off the road. My brother was nearly killed by one such driver.

As a cyclist, this Doctor should be found guilty. I can understand his frustration with cyclists as MANY here in So Cal are JERKS and do not OBEY the rules of the road. Being on two wheels is the same as being in a car or motorcycle. That mean you have to STOP at stop signs and not blow through them. But this doctor took his anger out in the wrong possible way. I wish the police would set up stings on Sunday for Bicyclists who break the law. If they don’t have their ID, the cops should impound their $3000-6000 bikes.

NO excuse for what the bikers did? Im sure they were just being their regular, sweet, California bike-rider types. face it,, bikers have gone the way of surfers,, judgemental, egotistical, aggressive territorial asses, blaming others for everything. Stay out of the main traffic lanes with your childrens toys.

And speaking of rules of the road, they were clearly not in control enough to stop when the car in front of them suddenly stopped, in a car, thats an offense. Oops, i forgot,, bike riders only pretend to follow rules of the road when it suits *them*, but they ingore stop signs, lanes, rules of the road, following too close, being drunk, etc,,,.

I was always under the impression that bikes on the road are governed under the same rules as an automobile. Rear end another car in yours and you would be very hard pressed to cry foul. It is always the duty of the trailing vehicle to remain a safe distance to insure that this apparent situation does not occur.

In no way do I approve of intentionally trying to injure cyclists, but in California bicycles are subject to the same vehicle code as cars and trucks. It is the responsibility of the person following to keep a safe distance in case of just this sort of instance. One wonders if the pair were cited for tailgating.

“If you rear end someone, you are obviously not in control, following too closely and are at fault (Judge Judy said so).”

If I purposely slam on my brakes to try make a car behind me rearend me (which is what this doctor told police he did) and I get caught, that’s considered an attempt at insurance fraud. I can go to prison. Illegals pull this scam frequently.

While the doctor might not have been trying to get insurance money, what he did is still illegal and completely and totally immoral. If he had killed one of these guys, I’d vote for life without parole.

“.... the a$$hat Freepers with irrational hatred of cyclists show up.”

I take it you’re one of those “holier-than-thou” cyclists who always think it’s their right to breeze through stopsigns/lights, and hog the auto lanes riding 3 or 4 abreast, among other annoying things.

Trust me, I am NOT an “a$$hat Freeper with irrational hatred of cyclists.” I’m simply a good driver who obeys the laws and doesn’t appreciate the dangerous behavior of the cycling skofflaws.

JMHO, of course.

I am an avid biker who rode 2 hrs yesterday and hate cyclists. They are some of the most rude arrogant people on the road. It may represent 25%, but they disregard every law and get killed for that arrogance. I have no sympathy for putting themselves in dangerous situations and getting killed. I only feel sorry for the poor driver who has to live with it.

Pray for W, America and Our Troops
