Casey Arneson may not get the award for Most Righteous Nonsmoker of the Year, but he should probably be a nominee -- depending how you feel about the continuing war between smokers and nonsmokers.

Arneson, 22, won the battle outside of the Depot tavern, at 627 W. Main St., in the early morning hours of Dec. 27, but he may have lost his personal war when he was charged Friday with battery for punching a smoker.

LOL...my backyard often looks like the set of Revenge of the Sith, which is fitting because Billy’s (my oldest) interest in fencing all started with Star Wars. So...as usual, it’s all Darth Vader’s fault.

Regards,

I just bet your neighbors have “looks” LOL!!!!!

Going back to your previous post about ashtrays. The Sunday after New Year’s my Pastor was having an open house. I was there on Saturday helping her get the last stuff together (she’s in the midst of remodeling) and all of a sudden it dawned on her that hubby and I were not the only smokers who we be around, but she had no ashtrays and asked me which dishes should she use as ashtrays. I laughed and told her not to worry, I would bring some with me on Sunday, because I was going to be there early doing food prep.

Long story short, I thought she was going to have a stroke when I put the ashtrays out on tables on the back porch, which is screened in.

It’s Tae Kwon Do Gabz. You should do it with her.

I’m up to Brown Belt, than it’s Bo Black and conditional and than Black Belt testing by the end of the year.

I go more than they do. Love it.

Yes, I know -— geez can’t a gal make a typo? ;)

I love my daughter, and as much as I enjoy doing stuff with her, I do draw the line at Tae. Thanks, but no thanks. This old body gets more than enough exercise without adding more to it! I start planting in just a matter of weeks.

It’s great for her though. It’s not even just about the self defense.

It’s a mindset. Self discipline, respect, hard work. Kids who take martial arts are more likely according to not so bogus studies to to be high achievers.

The self discipline aspect is exactly why we encouraged her in the first place -— and we saw definite improvement in that aspect.

It’s the execution. If done right,..............

Thanks for the answer. Into boxing myself (when I was young), got to worry about where four hands are at all times (his two and your two) ;-)

It's all in the execution. Everyone knows what you should do. Only the greatest have the skill and God given ability to do it. It doesn't just apply to pugilism.

Photobucket

Good News: They can make a lot of money with that skill.

Bad News: The government and Don King will take 80% of it.

(4) Make sure his cellmate is a smoker, just for the entertainment value.

Many jails are non-smoking these days.

Its often in designated areas only and 25ft from building entrances. Its also just as often ignored.

Military base I frequent put up no smoking signs in the parking garage, which left the smokers no place to go in foul weather. They smoked there anyway. One day there was a armed guard there. Turns out the 3 star was tired of the butts all over the ground. You should have heard the whinning.

I teach that technique a lot, but beware that you can damage someone with it if you execute too quickly.

Full disclosure: I have never used it on someone for smoking, though I have used in on smokers for other reasons.

When I was in the Army, nearly everyone smoked. We also held daily Police calls, leaving no butts behind for 3 Stars to whine about.

In fact, throwing butts on the ground could get your butt on the carpet, so we field stripped them and kept the area unlittered.

For years now, most smokers have tried to be considerate of others, with some exceptions. No matter how considerate they tried, they were still shoved outside in foul weather or told they were now second class citizens.

That they have bgun pushing back doesn’t surprise me at all.

Why not just a total ban on tobacco? Because it is a cash cow for anti-smoking groups and gubmint. Your health really doesn’t matter.

Smokers that do not smoke within their own homes have simply bought into the years of brainwashing, lies, and guilt by the media-feeling they’re going to kill family members. At the very least, I feel a den should be constructed so smoking is at least done in one room.

That's good too. At least this thug will be happy where he belongs.

I am not a sissy, LOL. I was not talking about myself walking through a smoking area; I was talking about people who walk up to were others are congregated or working at something out in the open air. Some smokers do not seem to give a damn about anything but lighting that butt. If we were already there as known non smokers and you walk up and light up and let the smoke blow through our space with no consideration you are just another jerk.

You are quite welcome to light up anywhere you are not intruding but that is not just anywhere.
