Casey Arneson may not get the award for Most Righteous Nonsmoker of the Year, but he should probably be a nominee -- depending how you feel about the continuing war between smokers and nonsmokers.
Arneson, 22, won the battle outside of the Depot tavern, at 627 W. Main St., in the early morning hours of Dec. 27, but he may have lost his personal war when he was charged Friday with battery for punching a smoker.

Ping!
now, the zealots are getting physical...Throw the book at moonbat Ameson...
Sounds like he shouldn’t be drinking if he is that angry.
Why was he unable to defend himself, because he was a smoker? If he was a drinker I'll bet he could have. :^)
Leandro Reyes, 21, and Hannah Miller were outside the tavern having cigarettes along with others from the establishment, when Arneson, who knows Reyes as a schoolmate from Madison Area Technical College, came by.
Arneson, the criminal complaint against him says, told another female smoker, “You really shouldn’t be smoking.”
Reyes later told police he responded to Arneson by saying, “Why don’t you leave her alone, she can smoke if she wants to.”
That apparently greatly upset Arneson, who walked over to Reyes and punched him in the face with a close fist, knocking him to the ground, the criminal complaint against Arneson says.
“While Reyes was on the ground and unable to defend himself, Arneson punched him several more times,” the complaint says.
Hannah Miller gave a similar account of Arneson’s actions and said after he knocked Reyes to the ground, Arneson continued to pummel Reyes until others pulled him off and broke things up. Arneson walked away. Reyes told police a day later his face still hurt.
Woman accused of smoking, swearing and hitting attendant on flight
Chaos broke out aboard a JetBlue plane after a flight attendant snatched a cigarette out of a woman's mouth, court records say.
Christina E. Szele, 35, is accused of flouting no-smoking rules and swearing and screaming racist slurs at a flight attendant, whom she allegedly socked in the jaw.
The woman, who is white, then began swearing and shouting racist slurs at Whyte, who is black, according to several witnesses.
Whyte said he felt threatened when the woman said, “I'm going to get you” and threatened to kill him, according to court records.
During the struggle, flight attendant Garcia had an asthma attack and needed to use an inhaler.
The cuffed woman kept swearing, kicking a bulkhead wall and stomping the floor until the plane landed in Denver, witnesses said.
In a DIA holding cell, the woman told the FBI that she'd had two beers before the flight and three vodka drinks on board, but that she has a “high tolerance” for alcohol and felt fine.
She didn't recall smoking at her seat or hitting anyone, the FBI statement said. “If she did, she had to have been drunk during the flight. She blamed the crew for serving her the three vodka drinks,” the FBI agent wrote.
A flight attendant said that the woman was just served one drink.

Herd mentality..."popular thinking" and all that emboldens 'em. They've found a bandwagon and jumped on it.
Nanny State PING...............
The anti-smoker zealots have declared open season upon those who choose to use tobacco products, and even those who are non-smokers but not anti-smokers.
Well, until you have smoke blown in your face.
Non-smokers do not do such things. Only anti-smoker zealots do so. The antis are an entirely different breed of animal.
Thank you! My face hurts just thinking about it!
I swear. I’ve never smoked other than my ‘Annual Birthday Cigar’ and a lot of times that’s just a Swisher Sweet, LOL!
But some days (like today!) I want to take it up just to p*ss those Nanny Staters off!
How’s the weather by you? Wet?
I found the reporter's attitude toward this to be very disturbing. This has nothing to do with how anyone feels about the "war" between smokers and non-smokers and everything to do with how one feels about moralistic jerks committing assault and battery in a frenzy of self-righteousness.
It is, however, a revelation of the Left's attitude toward violence in general: if you agree with them, it's justified.
Not wet, just cold --- but I'm not complaining because in comparison to what you've had it's actually balmy here --- high today was 28. Chance of snow tomorrow night into Monday, which probably means there will be no milk, bread, or toilet paper in the supermarket tomorrow and we will get 3 or 4 flakes of snow!!!
LOL - This post is shear, unambiguous poetry!
