Friends, Americans, conservatives; lend me your ears. I come to praise George W. Bush, not to bury him; I'll leave that to our famously unbiased media.
*snip*
We can also be pretty certain that his departure will not feature the ransacking of the Oval Office and Air Force One, or the sophomoric removal of the "O's" from White House keyboards.
If, as has been the case for his entire presidency, he is true to his word, he will be as magnanimous to his successor as he was to his predecessor; notwithstanding the disrespect he received at the hands of both.

Another one of my faves.:)
He visited Green Bay twice in 2000; I saw him both times, shook his hand the first time. He came back on Labor Day the following year; I saw him that time too. It was one of his last public appearances before 9/11.
The posts are great as are the photos. I couldn’t agree more with the feelings and thoughts on this great President! We are all going to miss him as our President but I am sure we’ll see more of him.
Thank you and God Bless you President and Mrs. Bush
STARWISE, thank you for this thread, and special thanks to
Lisa Fabrizio for articulating the words of my heart regarding President Bush. I called my mother and read this excellent piece to her. She feels the same, as does my husband.
I love President and Mrs. Bush. I’ve disagreed with the President, but I’ve never doubted his decency, integrity, and strength of character, or that he loves our country, our people, and our founding documents.
I believe he was lifted up for this particular time in history. I doubt that a man of lesser faith and strength of character could have brought us through the refining fires of the past eight years as safely or as well.
God bless President George W. and First Lady Laura Bush. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Aww .. so cute.
I agree ... he stood in the breach, restored honor
to the office after the Clintontrash, did his job,
taking every sling and arrow, slap in the face
and punch in the gut, and never uttered one word of
self-pity, anger or vengeance. He has truly walked
with God right at his side.
Thank you, God.
Big Bump.
I believe that with all my heart. I am going to miss President Bush and his steadfast support of our troops and his genuine love for this country. God is so good to allow us to have such a leader at such a scary time. I wasn't worried these past 8 years. I knew that *whatever it took* President Bush would protect his people. Sadly, I am not feeling very comforted by the incoming administration.
I pray mercy for what is yet to come.
"If" is one of my favorite poems. There are a number of people that I think about when I recall it. I'm thankful that President Bush is one of them.
I'm not ashamed of being called "corny" by the type of person who would call me that for thinking as you do about President Bush.
There’s at least two things we all can agree on about President Bush. First and most importantly, we haven’t been attacked again. Considering the breadth of the attack on 9/11 and the freedom the terrorists had to plan, completely shutting them down is nothing short of amazing. Secondly, he was a constant thorn in the side of the left, and drove them more insane with each passing day. That’s always a plus in my book.
God love him!
Thank you for the memories, Kitty!
Thank you.
You’re Welcome, LUV W, and Thank you to you, STARWISE, and Everyone for the Wonderful Pics I’ve Seen throughout the Thread!
**George W. Bush, Winner**
I agree. Thanks for posting this. History will look on him kindly.
