No, haven’t heard back. Unlike the GOP caucus, Naifeh has held such absolute power that he has never had a single rodent vote against him during his time as far as I can tell... and with this farce of a coup d’etat, he still hasn’t. He’s had plenty of RINOs vote for him, though (even when Naifeh has NEVER given the GOP a Committee Chairmanship).
I recall 1996 I think it was some state house candidate murdered another, I think that was TN.

They don’t defend it, they don’t report it. We got 220,000 more votes for GOP candidates for the State House, 54% of the vote (the rodents got 43.7%). 1.1 million to 900k. The rodent leaders, and especially the Judas-traitor, don’t care they just disenfranchised that 1.1 million voters and gave the middle finger to every last one of us.

1998. It was Byron Looper. Looper was a strange man who first started running for office as a Democrat in Georgia in the ‘80s, but never won. He came to TN and tried running for several offices, this time as a Republican. He changed his name to “Low Tax” (literally and legally). He discovered an odd loophole in the law that if your opponent dies during the course of an election, their name is immediately stricken from the ballot, and you are automatically elected. Two weeks before the election, he assassinated (and that is the right usage of the word) State Senator Tommy Burks (quite probably one of the most Conservative members of the Senate, of either party, a DINO) while he was out, IIRC, getting his mail. He was quickly located, and arrested. But he was still on the ballot and would cruise to a general election victory. The Dems (and the GOP, for that matter) quickly mobilized to get Burks’s widow as a write-in candidate, and she won over Looper. In 2000, he was sentenced to life without parole.
I agree that you're unlikely to get any "conservative" Dems to break ranks and support the Republican. RAT party discipline is incredible. It works the same way on the federal level -- the Dems will get RINOs to crossover and vote to put RATs in charge, but the Zell Millers, Gene Taylors, and Heath Schuler's of the world will continue to vote for socialists to run their chambers, no matter what happens. And in Illinois, we have have a handful of southern Illinois Dems who are to the right of Henry Hyde on the issues and whose districts went to McCain by almost 60%. Doesn't matter -- they vote to have Emil Jones & Mike Madigan run the show, and continue to get re-elected.
BTW, owing to their constiuencies -- Mike Madigan (D) represents an heavily irish-Catholic southwest Cook County constituency -- House Minority Tom Cross (RINO) represents a rural farming community in Kendall county -- means our RAT Speaker is socially conservative and pro-life (at least on paper) while our "Republican" leader is socially liberal and pro-abortion. Kinda reminds me of Pennsylvania's Senators.
Also, taking out Kent Williams may be harder than it sounds. We had a treasonous State Rep. (Paul Froehlich of Schamburg) here in Illinois who got re-elected in 2006 by pledging to advance the Republican Party in Illinois (he was township GOP chairman at the time), then he turned around and voted for Madigan for Speaker, and caucused with the RATs. He was promptly expelled from the party and since the district has a Republican State Senator, it seems to everyone -- including liberal Democrat media pundits -- that he would lose to a GOP challenger next time. The RATs had no use for him since they had already had a safe majority, and they didn't want another pro-life, pro-gun RAT who wasn't "progressive" enough for them. Well, Speaker Mike poured zillions of dollars into his primary campaign, and he was nominated on the RAT line over his "progressive, true Democrat" opponent. Then in the general election, his GOP challenger was underfunded thanks to Republicans wasting their time on dead-on-arrival U.S. Senate candidate Steve Sauerberg, and the surge of black RAT turnout with Obama on top of the ticket. In the end, Froehlich squeaked by, even though he had around a 38% approval rating after betraying his party and lying to his constituents last time.
McDaniel is a RINO scumbag who also ought to be run out. He was replaced as Minority Leader back in 2003 after 6 years of practicing kissing Boss Hogg’s big fat RED ass. He’s from West TN as well. He was NOT nominated as Speaker Pro Tempore today after Traitor Williams’s apostasy. Nashville Republican (the lone Republican from our county) Beth Halteman-Harwell was nominated for that office. She lost by 1 vote to DeBerry... Traitor Williams’s vote.

Naifeh has been Speaker for 18 years (20 now with his puppet), but he was the real power even before that, Majority Leader since 1985. He’s been in the House since 1975 (a Watergate baby), defeating a GOP incumbent back when we almost took the House in that period. The Republicans simply don’t know how to play hardball. I warned one of the Conservative leaders in the House, Stacey Campfield, that Naifeh would pull a stunt like this and they didn’t seem to take it into account.
But we got rid of the other traitor Mike Williams, who didn’t run for reelection as a Republican (lost the general as an “Independent”, although backed by the rodents). One interesting precedent the Democrats established last year was their stripping a Democrat incumbent for renomination to the loser because they cited “Republicans voting in the primary”, though no way to prove that. If Traitor Kent Williams tries to run again as a Republican, we can use that and strip him of his nomination. Then he will have to run as a write-in candidate (almost always unsuccessful). His sole option now is to run as a Democrat or Independent.
The rodents know their days are numbered. We got 54% of the vote, they got only 43.7%, and it keeps widening. It will be complete open warfare in 2010, both in the primaries and general. The GOP Senate will likely be untouched, and I expect our numbers to continue to widen there with possible retirements. We swept all but one of our targets in ‘08, and there are more for us in ‘10. In the 34-member body, we could conceivably win all but about 6 seats if we get control of redistricting, leaving the rodents only in urban Nashville and Memphis, Blacks and liberal Whites.

This seems like a "too clever by half" move to just wrest the 50-49 majority away from the Republicans.

We had a one-seat majority. He wanted to appear bipartisan. This will be the first time in recent memory that the majority party will hold all Chairmanships in the Senate (early '90s ? Late '80s ? I'd have to scour the Bluebooks to see). We have a 5-seat majority, so we don't owe them squat, and after the House theft, especially so.

More than likely most of those were people that voted early or absentee ballot before the murder. Had he not assassinated Tommy Burks, he'd probably have gotten maybe 25% or so. I remember some media types lampooning the GOP that he'd get 5% without taking that into account (given that most candidates don't tend to assassinate their opponents). Of course, there may have been some kooks that got some kicks voting for a killer. The GOP never much challenged Burks because of his voting record (but never was able to persuade him to switch parties, since our rural areas west of East TN were the last to go Republican downballot, and they're still in the process of moving our way. 10 years from now, most of the rural areas will be solidly in our column, but we're not entirely there, yet).
