President George W. Bush will give a farewell address to the nation Thursday night, billed by the administration as a chance to reflect on his tenure and welcome Barack Obama without fighting old battles one last time.
Bush will deliver the speech, expected to run 10 to 15 minutes, from the ornate East Room of the White House. He will have a small audience of people in the room, chosen for their stories of personal courage.
White House press secretary Dana Perino said Monday that Bush will "uphold the tradition of presidents using farewell addresses to look forward ....
*snip*
Perino said the speech will be the last scheduled public event for Bush as president until he appears on the North Portico to greet Obama on Inauguration Day, which is Jan. 20.

You used the word Noob. Not me twinkie. Pounding your weakling chest like you have something to say. So what, Kennedy and Kerry have been in Congress longer than Pearce and Coburn. And that means jack sh*t, twinkie. I do not kneel for any man, but I have seen your head a bobbing for the terrorist appeaser Ron Paul.
You are an absolute phuckwit. If you knew anything at all, you would know that I am definitely NOT a Ron Paul supporter, and never was. The fact is, Jorge W. Legacy is no conservative, he's the biggest spending Texas-loser since LBJ, and your eager protestations about not kneeling to any man fall into the category of "thou doth protesteth too much".
Get some Absorbine for that sore wrist of yours.

Hey George, when you come back to Texas and buy back the Rangers, can you at least spend some money on pitchers? I hear you’re real good at spending money, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Recent ex-presidents have started their side projects/foundations/tax dodges. You know, the Habitat for Humanity, Klintoon Save the World Foundation, Points of Lite Institute. Any guesses what Dubyas tax avoidance scheme will be?
Look for him to take Poppy Bush's place for the next Clintoon World Tour.
You heard it here first.

Thank you for protecting this nation and supporting our military, President Bush. You will be missed by many. I may not have always agreed with you, but I truly believe you are a man of good character and faith. I wish you and your family the best.
At this point, I pray that this nation isn't destroyed and completely demoralized by the incoming administration. I am disgusted and ashamed of our incoming CIC.

So many Bushbots, so little time.
They're like cockroaches, all they know is to scramble around when the light hits 'em. You can't get rid of them without burning down the damn house, so you keep smashing 'em.

I feel something very bad is coming. Knawing. Cannot explain it.
Trust your instincts DCP. You're on to something. Think about finding some land if possible back up in West Virginia.

NOT seeking opinions of Pres. Bush, who last I looked, has been responsible .. along with our unparalleled military .. for preventing terrorist attacks (beheadings, etc.) on ANY US citizen in ANY state, county, city or town in the whole United States of America. Bovine excrement.
Bush did nothing to prevent the Washington DC area sniper attacks, perpetrated by John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo in 2003.
Of course, it's hard to think clearly once you're high on the Republicrat Kool-Aid, especially if it's laced with RINO dung and hallucinogenic Bush leaves.

I'll skip it. I have tired of GWB. While he did well on the war on terror, tax cuts, and supreme judges, he failed badly in other areas, and he failed to take the bull by the horns. In the last year, he has made me glad he is leaving and bad that I voted for him. Basically, I am extremely disappointed in him. When President Reagan left, I was very unhappy, and very sad to see him go. With Bush, I am just glad he is gone. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know who is coming in. That is not my meaning here. My meaning is I am just tired of his failures of the past couple of years and enough is enough and time for him to go. He has worn out his welcome. What he accomplished early has been over whelmed by his failures since.

The OP meant this to be a nice trip down memory lane. He even posted specifically requesting this not be a Bush basher thread.
Who then could be considered cockroaches here? Be honest.

I hate to wake you up already, but this country, just spent over one trillion dollars in a war on terror, spent the last eight years at war, survived an attack on the homeland, and has just elected someone to be president with nearly as many well documented connections to radicals and terrorist as bin Laden has.
This is the legacy.

I am glad the President Bush took his responsibility to keep the US safe seriously when it would have been easy to give in to the caterwauling. And no war efforts are ever perfect, these have been microscopically examined in 24/7 real-time... we would not have won WW2 under these circumstances most likely with a press who was at best neutral re: national security...
And our national security trumps everything else. A major terrorist incident after 9-11, such as a nuke in a US city, would have caused even greater financial devastation than the mortgage crisis... and this did not happen...
He had to spend his capital on the War and this derailed his efforts to privatize Soc sec and also to regulate Fannie and Freddie. And our GOP congress-critters spent like drunk sailors...
We are lucky that President Bush won Florida in 2000...
