Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) simply can't tell the whole truth about his cut-rate, quid pro quo mortgage deals.

The taped exchanges between Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Franklin Raines in the 2004 House financial-oversight hearings are metaphors for the entire subprime crisis.

They won’t get canned until Obama is in place to give them a pardon.

Neither mentioned that Frank himself got thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Fannie Mae, had a former partner working as an executive for the institution and was supposed to help monitor Raines' administration - and perhaps question the need for Raines' own multimillion-dollar performance bonuses at a time when his concern was going broke.

If you have a “D” next to your name, there is nothing to talk about. Nancy Pelosi said that it’s Republicans who have a culture of corruption.

If you have an “R” next to your name, then you are automatically suspect. That’s just how it works in the MSM.

Come on, the Dems are not going to objectively investigate themselves. Any “investigation” they undertake will end up with a comment such as: “While we are disappointed in how some of our members conducted themselves, no laws were broken and no crimes committed, and the subject members have promised to do better in the future. Now, let’s get on with proseucting Bush and Cheney and bringing them to justice for war crimes.”

Media Mum on Barney Frank's Fannie Mae Love Connection:
Democratic House Financial Services Committee Chair promoted GSEs while former 'spouse' was Fannie Mae executive

By Jeff Poor
Business & Media Institute, 9/24/2008

excerpt...

"Frank, who is openly gay, had a relationship with Herb Moses, an executive for the now-government controlled Fannie Mae. The column revealed the two had split up at the time but also said Frank was referring to Moses as his "spouse." Another Washington Post report said Frank called Moses his "lover" and that the two were "still friends" after the breakup.

Frank was and remains a stalwart defender of Fannie Mae, which is now under FBI investigation along with its sister organization Freddie Mac, American International Group Inc. (NYSE:AIG) and Lehman Brothers (NYSE:LEH) – all recently participants in government bailouts. But Frank has derailed efforts to regulate the institution, as well as denying it posed any financial risk."

Must see video from 2004: 'Democrats Defend Fannie/Freddie from Regulation'. Watch it 'til the end. You will not believe it.

"We've been through nearly a dozen hearings where frankly we were trying to fix something that wasn't broke. Mr. Chairman we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac and in particular at Fannie Mae under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Frank Raines."-Rep. Maxine Waters, 2004

I don’t think anything will happen to them while Obama is in office unless the new President needs something to distract the public!

“the dems’ ‘police’ need policing”

the politburo needs no policing. it is always correct and incorruptible. it is perfect in political thought and without blemish or blame. its very nature is superior in every way to that of the masses. anyone who doubts this must be insane and worthy of an i.r.s. audit.

IMHO

The taped exchanges between Rep. Barney Frank and Franklin Raines in the 2004 House financial-oversight hearings are metaphors for the entire subprime crisis. Frank (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and Raines, the erstwhile CEO of the now-insolvent Federal National Mortgage Association, sort of decided among themselves in public hearings that there was no need for Frank's additional regulation of the association.

These sorry, and lazy writers! In 2004 the republicans controlled the finance services committee, butt-boy barney was not chairman until January 2007.
