Despite being pressured by traditional family advocates to stop, Campbell's Soup Company, maker of Swanson's brand broth, has vowed to continue spending its advertising dollars in pro-homosexual publications.
As WND reported earlier, the American Family Association objected to a Swanson's broth magazine ad that depicts a lesbian couple and their son. The ad was placed in the December 2008 and January 2009 issues of The Advocate, a magazine that touts itself with the line, "For 40 years, setting the standard in LGBT journalism."
Campbell's Soup, however, has brushed off the AFA's complaint.
MediaDailyNews quoted a company spokesperson explaining, "Inclusion and diversity play an important role in our business, and that fact is reflected in our marketing plan."
According to a Campbell's representative, "Our plans for the Swanson brand include additional placements in The Advocate."

Let Campbells KNOW it annoys you.
By the way, I really like your tag line. ;-)
No one is perfect. ;-)
Both areas are closely aligned in successful companies.
Substantiation for this???
You just said it yourself. Apparently they will have underestimated the impact. Now comes the backlash. Wait for it...
For what? That they’re hiring college kids? It’s well known.
I did this very thing without knowing what “fond” was. Great to see there is a reason behind why this matters. I sauteed onions and galic along with some pesto and that was added to the crock pot with the water/broth, and then the beans were added along with potatoes and carrots topped with spinach and broccoli.

They serve different purposes.
A lot has changed since 1985, but those very tactics in 1985 were kind of a liberal one in saying f-u to the customers and in case you don't remember it bit them in their a$$. They had to run with their tail between their leg and bring back the regular coke they tried to replace with NEW Coke bs.
Let me guess back then you were all gung ho on them trying to sell a product and not seeing the bigger picture behind it?
Soup is actually fun to make. I make it whenever I have enough leftover something (like roast or chicken etc) to make it. And you can season it however you like. Great way to get rid of leftovers.
The problem with gay soup is that it might start a riot in your cupboard if it thinks you’re using other products too much. That’s why I keep the gay soup in its own closet away from the beans and cereal boxes.
That’s probably a hate crime! ;)
Most large companies don't care about the vast majority, only that small marginal percent of customers that are turned off. If 1% of Campbells' customers are unhappy and look to a competitor for their product, executives DO notice. If these customers let the executives know this and why, this can be a very powerful incentive to change their stance. The point of boycotts isn't to ruin a company, but to sway this very small percentage of customers that results in nudging the tipping point of the company's revenue structure. Doing so in a down economy can be particularly significant.
Sounds like a killer soup.
Its good you add the broccoli last. The high sulfur content in this type of vegetable can overpower a mixed vegetable soup if it is sautéed in the beginning.
Happy cooking!

If I remember correctly, Pepsi and other companies were gaining marketshare from Coke. The Coke people thought a new product would boost their revenue — that new was better. They were wrong.
Don Keough, who was president of Coke at the time, recently wrote a book: The Ten Commandments of Business Failure, in which he explained the reasoning. Unfortunately, I haven’t read the book, yet.
No impact on close alignment....
My girl dog thinks that can is very funny for some reason.
if you goal is to maximize your sales via marketing, you would not market to a 2-5% demographic... that risks pissing off 40-50% of your overall market. that's just plain stupid.
this is not about marketing. this is strictly about pushing the social agenda supported by the vocal 2%
best move in response? if families do not want to see this continue (do you remember the 90s?), then stop buying campbells products... AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME.
after that, we should track the sales for the company.
and to be honest, these people are doing things that hurt the financial prospects of the company... which, as a ceo, should get you fired.
No, overall that is not germane. Substantiate that it is EFFECTIVE.
By the way, do you believe in the “hard sell?” ;-)
