COUNTERTERRORISM BLOG.org ^ | January 8, 2009, 01:02 pm | Douglas Farah

Posted on 01/08/2009 2:46:57 PM PST by Cindy

SNIPPET: "The fundamental truth is that Hamas' road to Iran runs through the international Muslim Brotherhood, and has for two decades.

What is often missing in the discussion of the Muslim Brotherhood is that Hamas, according to its own founding charter, is an integral and armed part of the Ikwhan, not separate from it."

“Schools caught up in Palestinian conflict”
TUESDAY, 06 JANUARY 2009 17:18

SNIPPET: “Barbed-wire fences and security guards are a regular part of many Jewish childrens’ school day

A number of school administrators have come forth in recent days to confirm that they recommend Jewish children should not enrol at their schools.

According to school administrators, law enforcement officials and social workers, the on-going conflict in Gaza has led to heightened tensions between Jews and Arabs - particularly Palestinians - here in Denmark.

And although few headmasters of schools have faced the situation, most of those at schools with a high percentage of children of Arab descent say they try to prevent Jewish parents from enrolling their children there.

On Monday, headmaster Olav Nielsen of Humlehave School in Odense publicly admitted he would refuse Jewish parents’ wish to place their child at his school.

The comments were made following an incident last week in which two Israeli citizen’s were shot and wounded at a city shopping centre. Police believe the incident was a reaction to the Gaza conflict.”

“Obscuring Gaza”
by Charles Krauthammer

SNIPPET: “WASHINGTON — Israel’s leaders have purposely obscured their war aims in Gaza. But there are only two possible endgames: (A) a Lebanon-like cessation of hostilities to be supervised by international observers, or (B) the disintegration of Hamas rule in Gaza.

Under tremendous international pressure — including from an increasingly wobbly U.S. State Department — the government of Ehud Olmert has begun hinting that it is receptive to a French-Egyptian cease-fire plan, essentially acquiescing to Endgame A.

That would be a terrible mistake.”

Baptist group helping victims of the Conflict in Gaza

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

GAZA (ANS) — An international group of Baptists, through its relief and development arm, is assisting persons suffering from the crisis in Gaza.

A BWAid Rescue24 team, operated by Hungarian Baptist Aid (HBAid) which is part of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), has been in Cairo, Egypt, since December 31, 2008, providing medical treatment to persons who have fled from Gaza. BWAid made an initial grant of US $10,000 toward the medical relief effort.

The Rescue24 team will be relocating to the Egyptian city of El Arish, which is closer to Gaza, about 40 kilometers from the border, to continue the medical work.

HBAid is also planning other relief projects, including a psychosocial program for children in the heavily bombed city of Sderot in southern Israel.

The Baptist World Alliance (BWA) says reports indicate that more than 600 Palestinians have been killed since the violence between Israeli troops and Hamas militants began on December 27, 2008. Seven Israeli soldiers and three civilians have died as a result of the conflict.

The group also says Gaza Baptist Church (GBC), the lone Baptist church in Palestine, was severely damaged by the fighting. According to media reports, the windows of the church were blown out when an Israeli air strike hit a police station located across the street.

The BWA Attacks are not new to Baptists in Gaza.

In an e-mail update, the BWA says: “In June 2007, during the conflict between rival groups Hamas, which controls the parliament, and Fatah, which controls the presidency of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), the PNA police commandeered GBC as a lookout point for Fatah militia. The church had been similarly seized in February of that year.”

The Baptist group also states that a member of GBC, Rami Ayyad, who managed the Palestinian Bible Society bookshop, was beaten and murdered in October 2007 by members of a suspected radical Muslim group. The pastor of GBC, Hanna Massad, and his family, along with at least six other families from the church, fled from Gaza to the West Bank, which is also under the jurisdiction of the PNA, in the wake of Ayyad’s murder.

The BWA says it encourages prayers and invites support of the relief efforts for victims of the crisis in Gaza and Israel.

“The War Against the Jews”
By David Horowitz
FrontPageMagazine.com | Friday, January 09, 2009

SNIPPET: “The unspoken truth about the fighting in Gaza, which began on December 19, 2008, when Hamas rockets broke a voluntary truce, is that this is the frontline of a much larger war. This war began 30 years ago with the Islamic Revolution in Iran and is now global in scope. Its agenda is the extermination of the Jews and the destruction of the West.

The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas makes no secret of this agenda.”
