THIS IS THE DOWNER WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
January 7, 2009
After NBC canceled me "for life" on Monday -- until seven or eight hours later when the ban was splashed across the top of The Drudge Report, forcing a red-faced NBC to withdraw the ban -- an NBC insider told The Drudge Report: "We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," explaining that "it's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."
In point of fact, I'm not particularly critical of Obama in my new book. I'm critical of the media for behaving like a protection racket for Obama rather than the constitutionally protected guardians of our liberty that they claim to be. So I think what the NBC insider meant to say is that NBC is not interested in anyone so highly critical of NBC right now. It's such a downer, it's just not the time, and it's not what their audience wants right now, either.
In fact, I think my book is the downer America has been waiting for! So herewith, I present an excerpt from the smash new book out this week, "Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America":
When the Obama family materialized, the media was seized by a mass psychosis that hadn't been witnessed since Beatlemania. OK! magazine raved that the Obamas "are such an all-American family that they almost make the Brady Bunch look dysfunctional." Yes, who can forget the madcap episode when the Bradys' wacky preacher tells them the government created AIDS to kill blacks!
Still gushing, OK! magazine's crack journalists reported: "Mom goes to bake sales, dad balances the checkbook, and the girls love Harry Potter" -- and then the whole family goes to a racist huckster who shouts, "God damn America!"
Months before network anchors were interrogating vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on the intricacies of foreign policy, here is how NBC's Brian Williams mercilessly grilled presidential candidate Barack Obama: "What was it like for you last night, the part we couldn't see, the flight to St. Paul with your wife, knowing what was awaiting?"

Hey, Vassar1989, glad to see someone who survived the liberal academic abyss. fwiw (or not worth), one of the biggest a-holes I’ve ever known was a fossilized Vassar grad from the ‘60s for whom feminism is just another power trip, a real nasty POS, so it’s good to see someone here redeeming that Vassar name. Maybe I’ll try to think a tiny bit better of the place now. :^)
I think that Ann Coulter should be invited to speak at Vassar and at all of the “elite” colleges and universities since they are in great need of her medicine. But I’ll bet it probably doesn’t happen too often, except when they want to throw pies at her.
Thanks Syncro!
It's wall-to-wall Ann this week - and I love it!
I just posted a couple of videos:
Fantastic picture!*COULTER VIDEOS!* The Today Show & Hannity & Colmes (Editing and Commentary on Lauer Video)
LOL! Way to go Ann!
I just watched them????
This video does not exist. It either was deleted or flagged as innappropiate!
I was able to watch other videos, even other Ann Coulter ones. I tried using another browser with the same result. This is just weird.
You know so much about me...can you name one position I have which makes me a moderate?
If you think the conservatives haven't lost the White House and Congress, you should read up about Obama, Reid and Pelosi. They are not conservative. There are but a handful of conservatives left and they most certainly do not control much of any thing.
The battle is for the hearts and minds and the fact that conservatism has lost the PR battle is very frustrating. Conservatism is essentially the "rules" the physical world plays by. When we humans recognize those rules and live by them, we succeed and that success is sustainable until we quit being conservative. That's why republicans lost it all, they abandoned conservatism and turned into big spending liberals.
The best in any chosen field, whether in sports, music, writing, or whatever, are constantly working on their game. Ann Coulter is a good writer. She does her homework and presents her findings well. I don't think she is as good at her interview/debate skills.
For having dared to voice that criticism, I am therefore a moderate, a liberal, McCain, etc. That's fine. As you said, people are entitled to their opinions, but given the topic, the irony is humorous:
"We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of Ann Coulter, right now," explaining that "it's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."
I don’t like BOR that much but I will give him credit for reading the book. At least he said he read it and I believe him. Sean Hanity also read it as I am sure so has Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin. However, idiots such as Laur or Harry Smith have admitted to not reading it. They have their staffers go through it so they can snarkly comment on certain segments.
I’ve got the Bible, Rush, FR, and Ann Coulter in one hand
..and the dinosaur MSM in the other.
That way I know what both sides are doing.
Thanks Ann!
(BTW Ann, sorry we couldn’t get our schedules together for dinner last time. How’s Saturday look for you? Bern’s in Tampa perhaps?)
It has been a busy week for our Annie. Thanks, for the list of "Ann" threads posted here, knews_hound!A compendium of Coulter Columns this week...
And, thanks also to FReepers getmeouttaPalmBeachCounty_FL and an amused spectator, who have ANOTHER link to add to your collection.
This one is to the radio interview with Ann on the Dennis Miller show (1/6/09) -- where she talks about Free Republic:

Yeah, you advise Ann to moderate herself to have broader appeal. She isn't running for elected office. Hence, "Says the moderate as Ann laughs her way to the bank."
I've learned that arguing with people who are completely emotionally invested in something or someone is an utter waste of time.Perhaps. (I agree that Ann is a GREAT writer.)So, you just go on deluding yourself with your pictures of Ann and your fan worship and ignore reality and what I wrote.
She is a far better writer than she is a personality.
And yet, here is yet ANOTHER new convert to the "Ann Coulter fan club" -- generated by the "TV personality" that you seem to disparage, from sarahpalindeservesourvote.blogspot.com:
Thursday, January 8, 2009It's Official: Grace Explosion is a New Coulter Fan
I honestly used to think she was a lil too "over the top" in the sound bites I saw.I didn't see her at any length, just sound bites. I have never read her books.
I've decided she's the bomb.com. Why??
Because she refuses to be "pc" and I've come to believe someone irreverent is exactly what this culture needs to shake 'em and wake 'em up.
I really like how she stood up for Sarah and mocked the fluff questions Obama was asked in comparison to Sarah being "grilled" on little details of inane knowledge like she was in the college bowl...
My point wasn't that hard to understand.
The conservatives didn't "lose" the white house, the republicans did
The democrats won, the republicans lost.
Read my post a little slower so you understand and don't feel compelled to explain obvious facts to me.
So your lecture was unnecessary unless you needed to see it written down.
No, the conservatives don't control any branches of government, but they weren't involved in the contest for President so didn't "lose" it.
Your quote at the bottom of your post, I have no idea where that is from. Certainly not me.
You either are what your posts reveal and project, or you are not. Doesn't matter to me.
How you describe your self (if you felt so inclined) and how your words describe you may be different.
Being critical doesn't bother me, but your criticism are overly harsh and some quite irrelevant and speak of deeper issues regarding Coulter and her effectiveness or even the necessity of her being on the media curve.
And some are just plain attacks on character.
She can't be marginalized, it's too late for that.
You imply she is detrimental to conservatism.
Name me some conservatives you respect and believe are competent enough to be a spokesman for conservatism.
And have an established platform .
Ann Coulter has the media’s number - and they hate her for it.
I did NOT advise her to moderate herself, merely said that she is better at writing than she is at being interviewed. My mistake was to be critical of her with her fan club, but I’m glad you enjoy her so much and come to her defense with such passion.
I thank you and others for reminding me that I've broken one of my personal guidelines to never be critical about the object of another's affection, especially in the midst of their/his/her fanclub. It's great that you and others here are so devoted to her. It's a beautiful thing and it was wrong for me to be critical, especially when I was so overly harsh. Ann doesn't do that and neither should I.
I see now how mistaken I was about her interviewing skills. She's absolutely brilliant, as well as being wonderful, insightful, beautiful, bitingly sarcastic, but in a devastating way and her interviews are changing hearts and minds. I like her writing, so I don't see how I could have been so moderate, so liberal, so McCain to have been so mistaken with my misguided opinions to think that she is anything less than absolute perfection.
My taking the "an NBC insider told The Drudge Report" quote from the story you posted and substituting Ann Coulter for President-elect Obama to highlight how this isn't the time or place to be critical of Ann Coulter was just wrong. She is the best and maybe the only spokesperson conservatism needs.
