ANN COULTER: THIS IS THE DOWNER WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! (It's The Media, Stupid!)

THIS IS THE DOWNER WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
January 7, 2009

After NBC canceled me "for life" on Monday -- until seven or eight hours later when the ban was splashed across the top of The Drudge Report, forcing a red-faced NBC to withdraw the ban -- an NBC insider told The Drudge Report: "We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," explaining that "it's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

In point of fact, I'm not particularly critical of Obama in my new book. I'm critical of the media for behaving like a protection racket for Obama rather than the constitutionally protected guardians of our liberty that they claim to be. So I think what the NBC insider meant to say is that NBC is not interested in anyone so highly critical of NBC right now. It's such a downer, it's just not the time, and it's not what their audience wants right now, either.

In fact, I think my book is the downer America has been waiting for! So herewith, I present an excerpt from the smash new book out this week, "Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America":

When the Obama family materialized, the media was seized by a mass psychosis that hadn't been witnessed since Beatlemania. OK! magazine raved that the Obamas "are such an all-American family that they almost make the Brady Bunch look dysfunctional." Yes, who can forget the madcap episode when the Bradys' wacky preacher tells them the government created AIDS to kill blacks!

Still gushing, OK! magazine's crack journalists reported: "Mom goes to bake sales, dad balances the checkbook, and the girls love Harry Potter" -- and then the whole family goes to a racist huckster who shouts, "God damn America!"

Months before network anchors were interrogating vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on the intricacies of foreign policy, here is how NBC's Brian Williams mercilessly grilled presidential candidate Barack Obama: "What was it like for you last night, the part we couldn't see, the flight to St. Paul with your wife, knowing what was awaiting?"

Not having much to do, Ann Coulter was sitting on the beach and grabbed a pen and paper and wrote a column.

Her first column of 2009 is here!

There has never before been a President from a more dysfunctional family than B. Hussein 0bama. I thought Willy Jeff was bad but 0bama makes Clintoon look like he's from the All American Family. We are in for some really tough times. Pray for our country.

...After NBC canceled me "for life" on Monday -- until seven or eight hours later when the ban was splashed across the top of The Drudge Report, forcing a red-faced NBC to withdraw the ban -- an NBC insider told The Drudge Report:

"We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," explaining that "it's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

Here is part of the TRANSCRIPT of Ann's marvelous appearance (1/7/9) on the "Today" show, posted on YIDwithLID.blogspot.com:
-- snip --

LAUER: Do, do, do you think though that much was made of this and maybe you helped fan the fire here a little bit to (holds up book) make a controversy to sell the book?

COULTER: No I don't think I'd be sitting here now if it hadn't been a headline on Drudge. But let's get to the book-

LAUER: Really?

COULTER: -because I do want to talk about the book.

LAUER: But we've had you on so many times in the past. After every book you've always been invited back. Why would you, all of a sudden, be banned?

COULTER: Well I was, well I don't know. I mean that's not for me to answer what your motives are.

LAUER: We made it, we traded you out for Tony Blair yesterday. And I think that's a pretty good switch.

COULTER: Well yeah, more than Tony Blair on for four hours.

LAUER: Yeah right.

COULTER: It's a four hour show.

LAUER: But you were, in your slot where you were supposed to be yesterday morning was Tony Blair.

COULTER: Um, and Rachel Maddow, and various gossip columnists-

LAUER: Afterward.

COULTER: -and a bear.

LAUER: Afterward.

COULTER: The point is I was cancelled twice and it wasn't until the Drudge Report ran a headline, on its own reporting, and the Drudge Report has never had to retract a report-

LAUER: You know-

COULTER: -the way NBC News has.

LAUER: You know, you know what that expression is? Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you don't have enemies. But anyway. Let, let's get to-

COULTER: Let's get to the reason I wanted to be here.

LAUER: Let me get to Roland Burris first. Let me get to Roland Burris first. What's going on here? Has Rod Blagojevich pulled a fast one on the Democratic leadership here?

COULTER: I am like Roland Burris. I was turned away but I'm back...

"...it's not what their audience wants right now, either."

You mean their audience of mindless Obamabots? Ann tells it like it is, harshly. It seems most libs are *still* getting worked up with Bush hatred syndrome, and the man's almost ex-president Bush.

This happens just when she has a book coming out about how the media has a heavy pro-Obama bias. If I did not know better I would think that NBC is trying to help sell her book. Are they completely unaware of the irony here?

I expected to be halfway through the new book by now.

Instead, I have to wait for Newsmax to send me my free copy for subscribing to their news magazine.

LOL!
Ann lurks here, so I'm sure that she will understand (and appreciate) the compliment. :o)

BTW, do you know if "guilty"/"not guilty" just an FR thing, or do other people also rate women that way?

“The media’s fawning over Obama knew no bounds, and yet, in the midst of the most incredible media conspiracy to turn this jug-eared clodhopper into some combination of Winston Churchill and a young Elvis, you were being a bore if you mentioned the liberal media. “

Jug-eared clodhopper? She steal that from Freud?

Now THAT’s funny.

Gives me a reason to live for the next four years. To read her take on JEC.

That jug-eared clodhopper thing . . .

The press hasn’t been out there screaming about dissing the That One, so they must not have read it yet.

Good thing Ann used that excerpt in her column. Maybe get the dolts to notice and raise a fuss about diss’precting the That One.

I think they pay attention to the media, because when I talk to the average voter, even ones who are generally in the know on things, they regurgitate the headlines they see on Yahoo and CNN. The spin against anything Republican, combined with the omission of major stories is what results in our current predicament.

Everyone in America was saturated with the mini-Bamas first day at school, but I bet a very small number know that the Sec of Commerce selection withdrew due to the same pay for play activitiy that Blago is facing. That’s two guys close to Obama caught in pay for play, and and this donor to Richardson also gave to Obama.

From the fifth paragraph: “crack journalists” (emphasis added).

S’pose that's the problem?

Maybe they won’t notice the coming collapse of the USA. The MSM will tell them everything is A OK.
