"Why did we win? Because the NRA is shooting blanks and we won 10 of 11 contested states..."
Now, we can actually talk about responsible gun laws, conservation, public access, global warming - and even the economy.
So is he calling the hundreds of gun laws currently on the books "irresponsible"? I think not.
Democrats haven't "learned their lesson" nor will they ever. The question is not one of whether they will actually implement gun control but rather one of "how" and "how much".
They will run with their election "mandate" and see how far it takes them. The so-called Assault Weapons Ban will be reenacted at the very least. I'm surprised all of you here giving the Dems a pass haven't even acknowledged this.
After that, who knows. Kennedy has tried to pass his stupid ammunition ban bill many, many times. Will that have a chance? How about one of Obama's many past attempts at gun control? Gun-a-month? Wipe out concealed carry? The evil "gun show loophole"?
C'mon you folks who give the Liberal Democrats much more credit than they deserve about their current stance on gun control, what will they do and when will they stop?
They have the votes. Many times over. They'll give their "gun rights" brethren the opportunity to vote "no" on any legislation and thus give them cover with their constituents back home because they'll have enough Communists and Socialists leftover to vote "yes" and pass anything they want at the national level.
Watch. It's coming.
Seen many like her at the range the past few months where there had been practically none before.
Mentioned on another thread that when I went to the range not long ago there was a Prius with an Obama bumper sticker in the parking lot.
I went into the store looking for a guy wearing a shirt that said "Kick me".
I’m in.

So, the answer must be to fight them every step, join and/or support groups and vote for individuals who support and fight for the 2nd amendment and definitely buy what you want ASAP along with as much ammo as you can while you can. Then, train and practice, practice, practice.
Had Palin not got on his ticket, for the first time in my voting adult life I was prepared to NOT vote for president. AS a military person, that is bad, because the prez would be my commander in chief. I have always voted for my new commander in chief position. This year, I came close to not voting because of McCain. I do not like the guy, never have. Only Sarah drag me into the race.
But I absolutely see why someone wouldn't bother voting.
I knew it was going to happen and then when McLame ran off to rescue the world I knew it was over.
Like Rush said yesterday, it does not make any difference what Obama does wrong, bad, whatever, it does not matter. Americans are wanting free stuff right now, and he is giving, so they ignore everything bad about the guy. They will ignore whatever crisis comes up that makes him look bad.
Re: “Wait till they start the turn in the guns for cash drive in a neighborhood near you”

“They” pulled that guns-for-money stunt in Los Angeles before Christmas — many were turned in for, get this, $100 gift certificates. BFD. Pretty pathetic. Who would turn in a perfectly good gun for that pittance?
I just bought my first one AFTER this last hideous election and have no plans to divest myself of it. I don’t plan to make a hobby out of shooting; it’s for in-home protection here in the jungle that is L.A., but isn’t a $100 gift certificate a bit lame? Makes me think “they” can’t be all that serious about having people turn in guns.

Not sure what good it truly does, but I joined up even before purchasing a firearm. I figure there’s some power in numbers, I guess.
Haven’t you heard? The liberal/Democrat’s job is to make mistakes, while the “conservative”/Republican’s job when in office is to prevent their correction.
Enough oil for either one and they'll work for you.
