The military still has a presence at Fort Ord, in the form of several California Army National Guard units, facilities administrated by the Presidio of Monterey, and the continued operation of the base PX and Commissary to cater for retirees who chose to settle in the area and are entitled to shop at such facilities. Management of the

military housing has been outsourced to private firms, but the homes are still occupied by personnel stationed at the Presidio of Monterey and Naval Postgraduate School and retired military members. Ft. Ord's housing, PX, chapel, and Commissary are now called Ord Military Community. What is really going on at Fort Ord? And how important was Panetta's involvement in the development of "his" university in keeping all of this out of the limelight?

Nothing much GWB can do this late in the game that would at least appear fair and or wise regarding future stimulus packages etc..
Besides. The Congress would move on nothing he might suggest at this point. One thing he will do is most probably leave the WH clean, do his best to encourage a clean transition, and make sure in his remaining few weeks in office, our national defense stays on top of things. And he will leave with the knowledge that his eight years in office bear some very heavy soul wrenching decisions. He has guts unlike the clown who was in eight years before him, and fouled up so many things.

I heard this afternoon on local radio here in the St. Pete/Tampa area that something "dire" had just happened to Israeli troops......but there was no other information or details forthcoming out of Israel.

I thought I heard there were 31 IDF soldiers killed according to unconfirmed rumors. I hope I heard that wrong.

If it's true, there's going to be a lot of Gaza terrorist thugs who will wish they hadn't been born in the next few days. There's probably something big going on right now as we read and type here.

Obviously I hope the numbers where not accurate if true, erroring on the large number, but regardless, Hamas must be destroyed. And the FATAH, those many that operated under Arafat also must be put into line.
Israel should ignore all external pressures by the lame brained international community and do what is best for their citizens. And that must include eliminating huge numbers of useless other then to Satan, Arabs that have a total lack of balance of world views, and basic history of why they are such a bunch of useless human beings, cannon fodder, little puppets that have been controlled so long by those that where well trained by the ex Soviet Union Communists, and given the green light from so many so called free western nations.

Pannetta's only experience in intelligence seems to be in having no knowledge that the Monica Lewinsky scandal had been going on when he was Bill Clinton's chief of staff.

Is Obama smoking weed again in Hawaii?

Maybe Obama can move Pannetta to chief of staff if Rahm Emanuel has to resign due to the Blagovich scandal, assuming Pannetta can be kept from claiming a position he has no qualification for.

Then if it turns out that Obama wasn't born in Hawaii they can just move Biden in to President, and Hillary to Vice President with all of Bill Clinton's former people being appointed to positions in the new administration.

Do they have an intern position open for Monica Lewinsky still?

Maybe Monica can be the new Janet Reno, the Attorney General in the new administration.

Noone can say that she didn't do enough sucking up in the Clinton administration.

Is Hillary making the appointments or is Obama?
