Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) threatened Friday to filibuster any attempt to seat Democratic Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken next week.
The newly minted National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman said he had not whipped votes in the GOP caucus, but added that he could not imagine any members defecting and seating Franken without a certificate of election.
Franken will not have that certificate as long as the election is challenged in the courts a likely scenario, with Sen. Norm Colemans (R-Minn.) legal team already attacking the credibility of the recount process.

Way to go Mr. Cornyn (he’s one of my senators here in the Lone Star state)!

All at the same time with McCain's bipartisan participation. Sounds about right. LOL

They might, and if they did my guess is it would be met with resounding approval by the MSM and the brainless electorate. If the ‘Pubs did it (they trembled in fear when it was proposed back when they were in charge and the ‘Rats blocked judicial appointments by the Bush Administration) it would have been greeted with universal outrage.

Why doesn’t Trent Lott gather up a little of the testicular fortitude that he lost by apologizing to every lousy democrat on earth after Strom’s 100th B-Day, and ask the Dems on the senate floor why they’re being so racist? Is Franken really more legitimate than Mr. Burris, Mr. Reid? Don’t you want to count every vote?

I imagine Kay-B Hutchison would vote to seat Frankenstealer: she’s scarcely met a liberal idea she doesn’t like, and she’s NEVER been known to rock the boat.

And this key point:
"But since Minnesota state law wont provide Franken a certificate of election with an election contest pending, seating Franken could be a risky and difficult proposition."
